Now that the subdivision elimination rounds are over. Who will represent each division on Einstein. Who will be crowned the 2015 FRC World Champions?
Bluman56
25-04-2015, 14:01
My prediction is that it will be a match up between 987, 2826, 2512 and 148, 1114, 1923. However, given how fast 118 and 1678's can burglars are, I can see them beating out the 987 alliance in semis and advancing to Einstein finals. I'm not gonna try to predict a champion alliance because honestly anything can happen. Either way, should be fun!
Can someone please post the winning alliances? I can't seem to find them on TBA.
Tesla subdivision is still going, coming into a rubber match in the finals.
EDIT: Tesla done, 3132-3476-1255-2526 on Einstein!

That on-field interview was painful to watch. I understand that they want to make it more exciting and like a sport, but she only asked him different variations of "aren't you pumped to be here?" I'll save my judgments for the end of the event, but they aren't off to a good start so far.

They've won a minimum of 1 regional/year since 2004. 3 regionals each in 2006, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2 in 2012, 2007, as well as trips to Einstein in 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2015, and being inducted into the HOF in 2012.

Whoa chill. I was just referring to Einstein trips. I picked 2010 just because it was a 5 year mark (also because going out to 10 years would have taken too long). I know their regional history. I wasn't trying to make any assertions about the teams, I was just providing a small insight into what kinds of teams are on Einstein right now.
When I stated that "they've been powerful in the last 5 years" I was referring to the fact that they made Einstein 4/5 years from 2010-2015. I was not asserting that they have ONLY been powerful in the last 5 years, because that simply isn't true.

Certainly not. I was there in Atlanta watching in 2010 when 177 was in the middle of that streak.
And once again demonstrating just how hard it is to win CMP? 2056. 22 regional wins. Never lost a regional (and 4 time members of the 3-in-a-year club, second only to 1114's 6-times), and yet still can't get the planets to align on Einstein.

Honestly, a lot of it comes down to schedule and who picks whom. We were at champs in 2014 coming off our best regular season since 2006 and got killed in quals because of a tough schedule.

Yep, or in this case, falling stacks and the brutality of the QF's in an avg score bracket with only 2 matches.
Winning CMP is less about prowess and more about being able to be consistent and take advantage of opportunities when they present themselves (see 2013 CMP and 1241/610/1477's run to 3 matches in every round.)

Honestly, a lot of it comes down to schedule and who picks whom. We were at champs in 2014 coming off our best regular season since 2006 and got killed in quals because of a tough schedule.
It really is. IMHO, our robot should have been ranked higher than 90th in Archimedes last year, but a tough schedule really killed us. We would score a fair amount but then get absolutely torn apart by the other alliance or have some untimely disconnect from the FMS. It's all about consistency.
ouch. 1114 dragging what's left of their canburglar. that'll slow them down.

Will the damage to 1114's canburglar let us see 900 in action? Something to watch for.

My question is why 1678 is now only building 5-stacks.

We're only able to build 5 stacks, and have been for the entire season.

Definitely 1114's and 148's championship to lose.
Looks like they lost it

Now it's 987 and 2826's Championship to lose.

I love how the interview lady asked the Simbotics girl how it felt to be on Einstein as soon as they got knocked off...

She seems like a really cool person, and an amazing driver (the Simbots girl, not the interviewer). Is this her senior year? I know 1114 has drivers for 3 or 4 years at a time.

This has definitely been an amazing championship to watch. With all the amazing upsets, I think I'll be happy no matter who wins. (Although I'd like to see 1678 win. Bring honor to all the five stackers!)

Who is she? (The interviewer) It seems like she isn't really a part of the program, we have interviewers for The Roboshow down here and they have more interesting and tactful questions to ask......

I'm pretty sure she's a mentor.

Reminds me of that irrelevant singer they had last year.

Not to knock her, she seems to be doing the best she can, I have to question why she's doing the interviews. There are plenty of MC's and GA's from the other fields who aren't announcing Einstein who are quite a bit more experienced behind a camera/mic...

I agree, she doesn't seem to know much about FRC, and smiling at the camera doesn't really make up for that..

She's actually a member of an FTC team in Georgia. She did GameSense (pretty much was an analysis show like The RoboShow) at the two Georgia regionals which is probably why she is doing the interviews.
Let's please back off the interviewer a bit. She's volunteering her time just like many of the people who are at the venue doing their best to make this an enjoyable event for all involved. I could be wrong, but I think this is her first year announcing like this. She deserves some time to learn and grow into the role, should FIRST continue to include the segment.
I just came back from a trip and am curious where the stream is -- does anyone have a link? The Blue Alliance has nothing going on it seems.
Thanks.

I stopped watching and got back right before 118/1676/1671 were announced winners. Did they announce any awards during finals?
UPDATE: They just announced the awards are next.

If they are announcing chairman's at closing ceremonies it is announced last again which is nice but most of the public and a good percentage of teams will have left........

Hey, random and unrelated question-how do you guys get those division banners in your signatures?
As someone who is a mod on TBA's chat, I can honestly say this has been just terrible with the camera. It's so hard to keep up...

Nobody knows. We planned on not going to the finale because we've been here for 12 hours and we haven't eaten dinner yet. We reserved a nice restaurant for the team, but we we are up for chairmans.
Dear FIRST, you really need to communicate these thugs! This is absolutely ridiculous!!!!! Just tell us when chairmans is being announced. Is it really that hard?!

Yea, my family is already driving home because they were to tired to stay much later. Just got a text from my brother asking who won it. I wish I could answer him. Does anyone know if the stream is going to show it, or is the stream done?
