I am working with the oranizers of the Cincinnati Comic Expo and they are wanting to have an off-season event in the middle of the Expo. They want this to be a good event to showcase FIRST and so they want to make sure the event would be well attended. I created a survey that I sent out to teams in Ohio and to some contacts I had in Michigan and Indiana who were going to distribute it to the teams. But I thought why not also post it on CD.
The event would be Sept. 18-20 in Cincinnati. The Event would be ran like an FRC Regional, with teams paying only a couple hundred dollars to register. Teams would be able to sell tickets to the event as a fundraiser and team members will receive passes for the event ($55 value).
Here is the survey link (http://goo.gl/forms/L5wsHDPCgM). The goal would be to have up to 32 teams.
Please only take the survey if you know your team would register. The committee will decide whether or not to have the event based on these preliminary numbers as well as other information I am gathering.

Don't tell the rest of team that they would all get passes to the event for the whole weekend or they will be trying to go.

This is great, we were actually looking at setting something up like this in Houston but couldn't get everything organized (Comicplooza is Memorial day so robots are barely back in time from championships). Glad you all are doing it. We had a pretty big demo every year but not a full event yet. It's a great way to get FRC in front of the general public.

They wanted to do it last year, but didn't start talking about it until June or July. This time we started talking much sooner. We are trying to get at least 24 teams, which can include practice robots. I'm hoping its a success. I hope being right at the beginning of school and the cost of overnight stays doesn't turn folks away.

Giving this a bump. For folks that are out of town/state the Hotel deal is pretty sweet for being downtown. Free parking and shuttle service to and from the event. Register for the event and come stack with us!
