Ran across this BBC video (http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-32384578) about a robot that looks like a cross between a 2007 robot mixed with minibots. The "minibots" have mecanum wheels and can move cars within a parking garage style environment.

Skip to about 44 seconds in. Looks cool.

This makes me wonder what other real world applications there are for mecanum wheels and omni wheels for that matter?

:D :D :D This is the exact video that we showed freshmen on our team who didn't know what Mecanum was when we were designing our bot for this year.
