This is somewhat a transition year, if out of state terms are interested let me know and I'll see what we can do.
We would love to have some California teams join us if you want to try to make that work. I hear there are a couple Texas teams that can't stop singing the praises of 5012, we'd be happy to have you.

Does "TWC funded" mean during the entire season? 1296 was funded by TWC for champs but not before that - not sure where we stand.
No worries if we need to send a check!

I don't think you do, as long as you filled out the grant application and stuff you should be fine.

Looks like a good list so far! I'm certain TRI will be really competitive and fun this year. Our team really enjoyed playing with the teams from Texas, such as 624 and 1477, and I'm certain everyone was impressed by all the robots from the state this year. I look forward to watching it!

We finally have settled on rule changes for TRI. The goal being to keep as many aspects of the game as possible while still improving the game and reducing penalties. Also we wanted a rule set that could still use the current FMS scoring system.
The complete rule document can be found here
TRI Rules 2015 (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1EOdFwdYomYgFw_-XrNdoWSbEfMyVts87hW-l_BSSt7w/edit?usp=sharing)
Thanks to the IRI and ChezyChamps organizers for their rule changes as we incorporated some of those into our changes as well.
General things we are changing that weren't in the IRI and ChezyChamps rules.
- Numbering rules are gone, you don't have to number your ramps, etc.
- Autonomous sets count as long as any part of the set item is in the volume of the autonomous zone.
- During the autonomous period, robots may not contact the recycling container on the far-left side of the step (Still a race for the middle two cans)
- Unprocessed litter on your opponent's side of the field is worth 1 pt. instead of 4 pts
- And our random selection order is back again for another year. We thought about changing it but the feedback we got was people liked it, so its sticking around.

Will there be a stream for TRI?
Of course, if all goes well 118 will be running a multi camera stream and Spectrum will be running a full field stream. We are also planning to have at least one of them clipped and archived to YouTube live through out the day. Both of the streams will be on YouTube on 118's and 3847's pages respectfully.
The multicamera setup will be on the projector screens in the competition field area and the single camera view will be shown on a screen in the pit area.
Hopefully all of this goes to plan.

Weather
Tropical Storm Bill has come in to Houston but our venue and the surrounding area was not hit very hard. The event will go on. If your team is no longer coming please let me know ASAP.
There are expectations of rain on Friday and Saturday so plan accordingly. Like last year the robots will travel briefly outside during the event but under a covered walkway. I don't imagine the rain being an issue during the event but it may be smart to have a tarp or something for loading, etc.
Workshops
We are pleased to announce that we will have 5 workshops at TRI this year. There will be signup sheets at Administration for each of these workshops. The workshops will be in our STEM building, located near the gyms.
9:30 AM - Noon
FIRST Progression Workshops
We will have three separate workshops covering FLL, FTC, & FRC. They will be given by the event organizers in the Houston area. See the attached PDF for full descriptions and schedules.
10:30 AM - 11:30 AM
From strategic requirements to robot design. - Aren Hill FRC#1296
"Discussion and examples of how to handle the transition from what strategy dictates to what your team can make. I will be sharing my experiences and what has worked for me in the past for this step, in addition to discussion regarding "how far to reach" mentalities based on team resources."
1:00 PM - 2 PM
Building a Sustainable Team: - Andrew Lynch FRC#2587
"Building a successful team is difficult but making a sustainable team is easy. The presentation will overview recruitment to fundraising and everything in between that creates a sustainable team. "
Webcast
The event will be streamed live and archived for later watching.
You will be able to find a full field stream here.
https://www.youtube.com/user/Spectrum3847
Also the multi camera stream will be provided by team 118
https://www.youtube.com/user/Robonauts118
Event Times
Robot/Pit Drop Off after 4pm Friday (We'll probably be at the venue till 10pm or so but if you could do it by 8pm that would be great)
Doors Open at 7am Saturday Morning (Volunteers and event staff will start showing up 6am, if you need something)
Opening Ceremonies at 8:15am
Lunch break at Noon
Event should end between 5pm-6pm.
Clean up should end by 10pm. If you can stay and help we appreciate it.
Address
8900 Bellaire Blvd, Houston, TX, 77036
Gyms are located at the north end of the main parking lot.
Team Count
We currently have 25 Teams signed up. Full Team List

Thanks for putting on a great event! The Full Metal Jackets enjoyed every minute, Friday at NASA (better known as the Robonaut's practice facility) and the Saturday competition. It was great to spend time with our Texas friends.
The upgrades to Cryptonite's machine were impressive - looks like they've been working on it non-stop. Every time we stepped it up they always had another gear. Look out IRI!
Amazing event for a 2nd year offseason! Congrats to all the teams and the volunteers.
Some teams were definitely preparing for IRI , while others were starting the season with new drivers and members. The impact on the students is really what makes these events remarkable.
Big congrats to Spectrum 3847 and Allen Gregory on a fantastic event.

Thank you to everyone that helped make the 2nd edition of TRI a great event. We have some many awesome volunteers who make this event possible, and a great group of Texas teams that make events a fun experience.
If anyone is wondering you can relive all the action in a number of ways.
Stats, match videos, and rankings are all live on The Blue Alliance
Thanks to their new off-season Event Wizard. Eugene and crew did an awesome job putting that together and adding the ablity to instantly upload match video links was great.
