Hello Everyone!
The Ruckus Planning Committee is pleased to formally announce that we are a go for Ruckus 2015 and that we want YOU to join us! The 11th annual Rah Cha Cha Ruckus will be on October 17th at the Main Street Armory. Over the past few years, we have had some excellent teams come to play and we are thrilled with the growth that Ruckus has seen.
If you are interested in joining us (and we hope you are), registration will open on May 26th at noon via the team registration page on our website (http://ruckus.penfieldrobotics.com/team-registration/). Last year, we had 39 excellent teams compete, but remember that space is limited and that registration is first-come, first-served. The cost of registration will be $300 USD, or $350 USD after August 1st.
As always, make sure to visit our webpage (http://ruckus.penfieldrobotics.com/) and Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/rahchacharuckus) for further updates.
Are you ready to Rah Cha Cha?

Registration for Ruckus is now live! As noted in Garrick's original post, spaces are limited so urge your team to register as soon as possible!
Looking forward to a great event again in 2015!

We're registered! Can't wait to train a new drive team and to bust out Guillermo one more time. I I had a great time last year - the Armory is such a fantastic venue!

Last year when Ruckus was announced there were no Ontario off-season events. With the addition of the Fall Fiesta event in Toronto and rumours of new events this fall, I think some Ontario teams might be planning on playing closer to home this off-season.

Yeah.
Once I saw that Canada got an off season I kinda figured it would affect our team supply from the North.

Ruckus is such a fun off-season. I'm pumped for Ruckus 2015. And it's always great to see our friends from Canada.
I wonder if we couldn't convince 1325 to come? :)

With the new Canadian off season event off and running its most likely a better deal to stick closer to home for many teams. We'll have to see if any more Canadians want to come down and play with us anymore.

Last year we had too many problems with team members not having passports, so we are going to an off season event in Ontario. Hopefully we can make it next season.

Team 346 is looking forward to meeting and competing in the Ruckus. The competition looks to be an interesting mix. I sure we CAN all enjoy it. And some of us will enjoy some hometown support.
And what about Team 2053??? We have seen them before was hoping to meet up on their "near" home turf.
And a question, can we bring garbage plates in for lunch?

Hello everyone!
A few updates to share! As Ed mentioned, we now have 37 teams registered for Ruckus. Remember that paying the registration fee is the only guarantee of a spot in the armory. There is still space left, and we’d love to have you join us. If you haven’t, register here (http://ruckus.penfieldrobotics.com/team-registration/). Additionally, if you would like to register a second robot, you may do so after October 2nd. The cost for this will be the same as the fee when you registered your first robot.
Second: Rule Changes, including our rationale, have been added to the website (http://ruckus.penfieldrobotics.com/ruckus-information/competition-rules/). As always, we will have a drivers meeting where any questions can be addressed to the head referee.
Third: Volunteer registration (http://ruckus.penfieldrobotics.com/volunteer-registration/) is also live! Sign up here to help make Ruckus the best event it can be.
120 Days until Ruckus!

Unfortunately the Armory has very strict policies about bringing outside food into the venue but the restaurant where the Garbage Plate originated from (http://www.garbageplate.com/) is right down the street from the event.

Hey everyone,
The list of teams still stands at an awesome 38, which means that registration is still open! The registration fee will increase on August 1st, so make sure to register (http://ruckus.penfieldrobotics.com/team-registration/) soon! If you have already done so, remember that paying the fee is the only way to guarantee your spot in the Armory.
As always, check out the webpage for more information and follow us on Facebook! (https://www.facebook.com/rahchacharuckus)
It should be a fun time!

The people going to Duel on the Delaware go through the same issue.
Just a reminder: The Rah Cha Cha Ruckus is a little over a month away and has five spots left for teams (http://ruckus.penfieldrobotics.com/team-list/team-list-2015/) but more importantly is in need of volunteers (http://ruckus.penfieldrobotics.com/volunteer-registration/). Also for visiting teams looking for something fun to do we have the Castle of Horrors (http://www.mainstreetarmory.com/castleofhorrors)happening in the basement below under the event.

Due to some unforeseen circumstances in our school, Team #4946 will be unable to attend the Rah-Cha-Cha Ruckus offseason event. However, as we've already paid and have secured a spot, we were hoping that we might to able to sell our place to another team. See here for information on the event
Are there any teams that would be interested in attending the Ruckus offseason event on Oct 17 in Rochester, NY who don't have a spot yet? Please contact mreynolds@4946.ca, or humberviewrobotics@gmail.com if you are interested.

Hi all!
It's been quite some time since you've heard from us, but it's now October! This is a reminder that there's still time to sign up to volunteer (http://ruckus.penfieldrobotics.com/volunteer-registration/), and we'd love to have you help us out with the 11th annual Ruckus!
We have a lot of excellent teams signed up for some excellent rounds of ̶St̶a̶c̶k̶ ̶At̶t̶a̶c̶k̶. ̶T̶r̶a̶s̶h̶ ̶T̶r̶e̶k̶. Recycle Rush. If you'd like to make even more out of your trip to Rah Cha Cha, the Armory will also be hosting a Castle of Horrors in the basement. If you've got everything set up on Friday or want to have a bit of fun after your last stacks have risen and your cans burgled, check it out!
Lastly, make sure you brush up on your Ruckus knowledge! If you follow us on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/rahchacharuckus), we will be posting some trivia questions. Answer them correctly and you could win yourself a 2015 Ruckus t-shirt! These shirts will not be available for purchase at Ruckus (which is also another good reason to volunteer).

I'm pumped up for this year's Ruckus. After IRI, Chezy Champs, and Battlecry, I think Ruckus might be the most competitive off-season event.
This year's Ruckus boasts:
Two Einstein Teams (1114, 20)
Two other teams that made division finals (3015, 4039)
Five other teams that ended up in divisional eliminations (340, 1511, 3683, 5254, 5406)
Five teams that won regionals in 2015 (340, 378, 1114, 3015, 4039)
Six teams that lost in the finals of a regional in 2015 (20, 340, 1241, 3683, 5254, 5406)
Additionally, a ton of teams going have incredibly competitive machines that didn't make championships, like 1126, 1405, and 1507.
Ruckus is going to be sweet.

[speaking for my team, which I don't usually do on CD]
I and my team would like to thank the organizing committee and volunteers for a really fun event. With 36 teams, smooth scheduling, great food, professional A/V, and a beautiful venue, it felt more like a regional than an off season event.
Celt-X had a great experience at Ruckus. We introduced rookie team members to pit scouting (which was as much about getting them to meet other teams and robots as it was gathering data). We got to play our backup drive team, who've been waiting for a turn in the spotlight since January. And we gave our primary drive team their last chance to compete together. The event gave us enough competition stories to tell all year.
So thanks again to the Ruckus crew, and to all the attending teams helped make it so fun and rewarding.

MakeShift would like to congratulate 1114, 5254, and 1285 on their win at this year's Ra Cha Cha Ruckus. Congratulations to the award winners and every team who competed.
4039 has always enjoyed the friendliness and welcoming "spirit" at the Armory and we recommend it to all our friends.
MakeShift would like to thank Kristen, Larry, Jeff, Dante, Koko Ed, and the entire team of Ruckus organizers and volunteers for your mentorship. The opportunity to ask 1000 questions during the planning stages, participate in set up, and shadow your people during the event has allowed us to see first-hand how a well-run event comes together. Co-hosting our first off-season event a month from now, we feel so much more prepared thanks to your amazing support, advice, and patience.
If you can make it up in November, we'd love to see you in Hamilton at the STEMley Cup!

5254 would love to thank 1114 for selecting us for the 2015 Rah Cha Cha Ruckus, and to 1285 for rounding out our alliance. It was a ton of fun and absolutely fantastic working with a legendary team like 1114 and helping our students earn their first event win.
Ruckus is always an awesome event, with our Canadian guests and the local powerhouses making the event competitive and fun, especially our friends on 4039, who bring a their fantastic branding and robot here to make this event great.

1114 made 3 landfill stacks multiple times during eliminations, including a match where 5254's 3 tote auto failed and caused 5254 to only put up 1 stack due to difficulties with tipped cans.

Thank you to the Rah Cha Cha Ruckus Planning Committee and all the event volunteers.
While our robot failed from qualification round 1 (a blown transmission) all of our alliance partners were graciously professional throughout eliminations. We hope to comeback and redeem ourselves next year.
While driving the 500 miles back home, we had time to discuss what we saw, learned, and look to improve. A very positive experience for our initial ruckus.
Good luck to all participants in Stronghold.

Ruckus also gave our team some important performance milestones:
First time we made 3 stacks from the chute during competition.
First (and second) time we righted a sideways can before using it to make a stack
First (and second) time we performed a "can assist" (robot-to-robot pass) - thanks Team 291!
First time we made a capped stack of 7. Oops :)
Thanks again to team 1126 for making us your first pick, and to 291 for a great playoff run. Hopefully you (and everyone else) can join us in Hamilton for the STEMley Cup championship. If not next month, then next year.

I stand corrected! 4930 was an essential part of the TVR winning alliance in 2015 and played quite well at Ruckus too. Also, I had 3683 on my list because I thought they were attending, so I had multiple things wrong.
Team 3044 would like to thank and congratulate our fellow alliance partners team 3015 and team 1405 for an amazing competition at Rah cha cha Ruckus 2015. We would also like to thank all of the volunteers and coordinators of the event, thank you!
