It remains to be seen if the B team can pull it off. This group will be brand new members, plus some veterans that have not had much build experience. They are designing and building a brand new robot for the event - and they have not really started on it yet. There will be at least two "sibling rivalries" and possibly a third between "A" and "B".

Still have to work out the scheduling (there's a USC home football game that day, which has tied us up the past few years), but THOR is definitely on my We're-Getting-Up-There-Someday List™. Fingers crossed!

THOR was a blast last year to train some new drivers. Hopefully this year we can have more attendance from YETI. We will have to see if the event falls on SAT testing weekend again this year.

So glad you brought this up. This year's date, October 10 (with hopefully some exciting additional activities on the evening of Friday the 9th) was carefully selected to avoid the SAT (which is Oct. 3), to avoid back-to-back weeks with nearby events like SCRIW, IROC, and Rumble in the Roads, and to avoid conflicting with the Martinsville Speedway Race weekend (which fills all the area hotels).

And we're waiting for Yeti to join us again for this year...it won't be the same without you!

We didn't sign up in time and I had Matt and Nate from Rumble in the Roads threaten to unfriend me on Facebook if we didn't go back so that was the priority. Y'all are going to have a blast without us though. THOR is a great event.

We had a great time at THOR! Like always, it was super smooth, and it was a great way to introduce FRC to the new members. Shoutout to 587, and special shoutout to 1262 and 1293 for being our alliance members, and for coming from out of state to compete!

It was a great event. Thanks to all the attending teams. Special shout out to Aiden from 5518 who came up with the design for this year's trophy. There was supposed to be an announcement, but it was overlooked in the excitement of the competition.

We'll be making 5518 a special "designer's edition" of the 2015 trophy as our way to recognize their contribution to the event.
