I am experiencing severe FIRST withdrawal. One of the things I miss most is having fun with other teams. I don;t know if I can last until IRI, assuming that we get in.
Besides for CD, what other things can us FRC people do together?
I had the thought of making a minecraft server (vanilla) where FIRST values were emphasized in the rules. Would there be any interest in this?
Any other ideas?

I like this idea, but i'd go with a faction server, with your team, so you can make alliances!
Edit: I've never seen something like that, but maybe try to have sub factions... Example with my team: Canadian teams-(faction) + 3360-(subfaction)

Minecraft wow it's been a while. I used to be a big fan have over 1000 hours on the game but I haven't played it for a year or so.

I created a little server based off of my home computer.
If you guys like the idea and use it, I could make an actual 100% uptime server .
Connect to it at 92.46.161.99
I hope to see some of you guys on!

How about some competition centered around spacecraft that launch on weather balloons? They're really inexpensive and there are a lot of learning opportunities.
I know of at least one FIRST mentor that has done it (http://www.nickolai.me/project-hal.html). I'd love to get kids interested in space.

It should be working......what exactly isn't? No connection?
I always have to reload multiplayer to get it to work for some reason, try that

Cubesats are cool, but they're still really expensive in terms of what most robotics teams could afford. I just took a cubesat design class and we had a budget of $500,000/satellite +$1 Million/satellite launch, and we still barely came under budget. Then again, it was a very complicated system and we utilized a 27U format. But even some of the components are still expensive (like $10K+ for an EPS system from Clyde Space). I would love to start a business that would severely undercut that market, but it's a ton of work to make space rated components.

I definitely am feeling robotics withdraw. Have to say we aren't the only ones. It would be great to create some sort of game. What would be really cool is if someone made a fake game manual (not as detailed as usual one) to a fake game and then pair up with other students from other teams to make made up teams and have a mock kickoff. Not sure how that would work but would be really awesome.

YES! I have been looking for a server to build on, what better group than with FIRSTers? I'm totally up for something like this.
What times would you be running the Minecraft server? I've tried to log in a couple of times but I guess it wasn't on.

You mean there's actually a break from robots?
