new post count problems

In the upper right corner of the forum page, the counter for the number of new posts is off for me. Here's what it says:
The time now is 04:32 PM.
You last visited: 12-26-2001 11:46 AM.
16 posts in 7 threads since then!

But there are only 3 new posts. I'm quite confused.

i was getting the same thing. i thought it was just me, i guess not:confused:

new != unread
it counts read posts as well as unread posts.

it may be counting private forums, however...

(im testing out an archive of the old old forums in private forums ... but it shouldn't be counting them)
