Aloha!
Brunswick Eruption is a little over a week away, so we wanted to remind you about some of our awards:
First, the deadline for the Kumu (Mentor/Teacher) Award is Friday, November 6th. This award recognizes the hard work, persistence, and dedication of a team mentor who goes above and beyond the call of duty for his/her team. Students, please consider submitting a nomination for one of your teams mentors as a way of showing your appreciation. Nominations can be submitted at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1D5kUGxf76eSNdpdtNeasOVWfA845E1amDZpdjYiMCG0/viewform.
Second, we are once again holding food and shoe drives at this years event. The teams who donate the most items in each category will win awards. Please consider supporting these two collections as a way of giving back to the community. All non-perishable food items collected will benefit the North Brunswick Food Bank, who especially appreciate donations as the holiday season approaches.
For a full list of the awards your team can earn at BE 14, please visit http://be.raiderrobotix.org/awards/.
A more detailed event information packet will be sent out to team contacts in the coming days.
We're going to have a full house of 42 teams, including one 2016 rookie, and are looking forward to a great event!

Thank you to all of the teams and volunteers who attended the event yesterday for helping make everything run so smoothly!
Here are the official results for BE14:
Butters from Team 869 was the champion survivor of the Evil Sundae contest!
Team 806, the Brooklyn Blacksmiths, contributed the most items to both the food and shoe drives. This is their 5th year in a row winning the food drive and 4th year in a row winning the shoe drive. We continue to appreciate all of your donations and the difference you're making in the community!
Team 2601, Steel Hawks, was the peer-nominated recipient of the Mahalo (GP) Award!
We would also like to give an extra big Mahalo to Team 869 for helping tear down the field and clean up after the event. We appreciate the helping hand your team is always willing to lend.
Kevin Mastropietro from Team 3637, The Daleks, was the winner of the Kumu (Mentor) Award.
As previously noted, Team 25 alumnus and BE VC Howard Cohen was the recipient of this year's Big Kahuna award.
The third seeded alliance of teams 303, 1923, 3637, and 3718 finished as finalists after three hard fought matches against the number one seed and winning alliance of teams 2607, 2590, 3142, and 4653.
