Hello all, I was wondering if anybody out there have any plans, pictures ect. on how to make the uni-casters(thats what I call them). They were the wheels with the rollers set up in the opposite direction on normal rotation. I believe Team #67 had them but I know there were others. I am trying some experiments this summer and was hoping to find some different ways to make them. Any help would be great.
Thanks in advance,

Just wondering if uni-casters are the same as T190's 'wonder wheels'...?

Check the pic below (ignore deej and just look at the bottom right corner) check out those wheels, and let me know if that's what you're thinking of :)

Team 111 had some really sweet ones that used rubber o-rings on each of the little rollers, we used 1" diameter washers fo ours but the principle is the same. If someone from 111 can chime in it looked like theirs were two 1/4" circular plates sanwiched together with an area for the shafts milled on each before they were sandwiched, I also saw a few that looked like the rollers were made out of rubber but I don't know what they used out of small parts to make them. All in all they work great I can send some pictures of wildstangs that they let me take if you need em

I'm from 111, but I'm a software guy so I don't have much to offer. The guy to ask for info is Raul, but he's real busy with real work so it may take him a while to respond. Run a search on the CD forums and you'll find his email.

Heres some information about the BUPOD wheels (Bias Uniplanar Omni Directional) that we used on our bot, As posted before they were two wheels cut out and mashed together with shafts that we milled, The plastic rollers are made from delron, in which each has 3 o-rings superglued to it (loctite 224 i beleive or was it 404?) But yea contact raul and he can set you up with a design.
