View Full Version : Why isn't there a fundraising forum?

It seems to me that, of all the aspects of FIRST Robotics, fundraising is the one where advice from other groups would be the easiest to give, and the most helpful. A simple 'car washes don't work, try a bake sale' could save some teams a lot of time.
Money has to come first, before anything else. Information like what types of companies to approach, what types of fundraisers work and which don't, would be very helpful for new teams. I bet a lot of established teams have helpful tips to give the newbies so they don't have to make the same mistakes.
Anyway, I was just wondering if I was missing a sub-forum somewhere, or if someone had an explanation for why this is the case. Thanks!

Don't feel silly - any new forum has break-in! I'm still learning stuff about the depth of Chief Delphi. Including half of Madison's findings to your questions.

Unfortunately there's been little action on these threads for quite a while. Maybe interest can be revived.

And don't forget that NEMO (Non-Engineering Mentor Organization) has white papers from FIRSTers on non-technical topics like fundraising. www.firstnemo.org
