Anyone else notice that the Other/FIRST Tech Challenge forum no longer shows up in the Recent Activity list? Other/VEX is still showing up just fine

From what I read CD is paid for by VEX/IFI right?

If you go to user cp --> recent posts confiq you can select which subforums you'd like to see on your portal :)

Looks like everything that's been happening in FTC subforum recently is on my portal where I'd expect it to be. Is the bulk of the FTC focused population more active on the FTC forums on the FIRST servers rather than here?

The FTC forums are not that active either. I find that alot of conversation happens over at the /r/ftc on reddit, but truthfully there is not much there either compared to the amount of discussion traffic as FRC.

Not really sure why that is....

But when you're not logged in it's off the radar. A while back posts showed up on the portal recent activity....

Point being it appears someone is unticking boxes somewhere.

There's plenty of FTC discussion about the new control system on the official FTC forums. Stuff on reddit is, well, stuff on reddit!

There could be many reasons why - be careful of making speculations or unfounded accusations that will reflect badly on you later........

As ChiefDelphi is primarily geared towards FRC discussion, the FTC forum wasn't included in the default list of forums that populate the thread listing on the portal. The list of default forums shown on the portal hasn't changed in many years. As Allison stated above, each user can go into their User CP and update settings to show which specific forums they'd like to see threads from on the portal.

Crikey, it's just an observation

If making observations and discussing them reflects badly on a person then you quickly defeat the purpose of the forum. Open discussion and expression of opinions!

Thanks for the information. Any reason why the VEX forum is included by default? Just curious.

People associated with CD are also associated with VEX. So it has been promoted as a go-to site for VEX posts.

BTW, if you click on New Posts, you should see stuff from all categories. That's how I came across this thread.

It would be great if FTC had a healthy online community where a great quality and quantity of discussion took place. I don't see Chief Delphi becoming that place given that the people who run CD are more passionate about FRC.

Has anybody put serious effort into getting an FTC discussion site off the ground?
