I'm curious, who's the supplier you're getting these bars from? My team is in California (notice the second "i" :rolleyes: ), and we get our aluminum stock from Coast Aluminum. Is there a cheaper supplier, or have I been living in cheap-aluminum-land all along and didn't realize my luxury?:p

Just generally, getting aluminum tubing that isn't 6063 is a pain in the midwest. Finding reasonably priced 1/16" 2x1 6061 is pretty much impossible here in MN.

I'd bet it is Coast Aluminum. They are super cheap.

Coast aluminum is the best aluminum supplier you're going to find. It's not going to be very cheap if you're only buying 20-30 lbs at a time though. Any time we buy 500+ lbs we get around $2 a lb or so.

I have noticed that Online Metals now offers a 1x2x0.062 wall 6061 extrusion.
