The Teaser is Coming!

Today’s the big day for the 2016 Season teaser world premiere! You’ll be able to see it at 9PM EST on GameSense (http://www.frcgamesense.com/). Thanks, again, to GameSense, for hosting this event! It’s going to be a fantastic party! As I said before, I think you will not want to miss this, it will be a big deal.

Part of the reason this will be a big deal is because of who we've partnered with on this new approach to the season: the legendary storytellers of Walt Disney Imagineering. Imagineers are masterful at blending storytelling with creativity and innovation to create totally immersive and emotionally engaging experiences for millions of guests around the world. FIRST has taken this approach to heart, in working to create a 2016 experience that is exciting, engaging, and meaningful for all our customers, from the teams, as our primary customers, to spectators, volunteers, sponsors, and beyond.

As anyone knows who has visited a Disney theme park, they produce extraordinarily high quality products and guest experiences. It came as no surprise that the Imagineers we worked with applied the same rigor and attention to detail when working with us to produce our 2016 teaser … and they did it as a gift to FIRST! We share the belief that together, we can inspire the next generation of true innovators! Thank you, Walt Disney Imagineering!

I couldn't care less about the teaser, but anything involving Walt Disney Imagineering piques my interest. I'll probably watch now.

The fact that Walt Disney Imagineering was involved in this project is huge. These guys are the best of the best when it comes to story and creating amazing experiences. I'm sure the trailer is going to be great as a result.

I wonder if Disney will be involved in the production at Champs. That would have the potential to be truly amazing.

It looks like Disney Imagineers are doing more than just helping them produce the teaser:

Does that mean the way they are approaching announcing and talking about the game? Including media separate from the teaser? Any hand in influencing the game?

The emphasis on storytelling really has me intrigued. I guess the teaser will be telling some kind of "story" (maybe the story of a student?) but the wording of the blog makes it seem like Disney has a lot to do with the whole season as well.

One thing I've always noticed about rides and roller coasters at Disney vs. other theme parks- the Disney rides aren't about the "Wow it goes XXX feet in the air" and more about the story the ride is trying to tell and the ride compliments that. That's why Disney is and always has been the king of theme parks.

And that's what has me excited for the teaser tonight!

You had my curiosity, now you have my attention.

Could this mean FRC could be making a return to ESPN or even ABC? That would be really cool.

FIRST is pulling out all the stops for the big 25. Should be a great season.

I bet you're absolutely correct. Why else release it so early and have a large focus on those "outside the tent"?
