Well recently i have gotten recently very unhappy at the websites that were designated "home" for IE for me. I WANT TO CHANGE TO A NEW ONE!!! So my question is when you open up IE what does your IE or other web program (name slips the mind) point to??

I'm not sure what you are asking. Do you want to know what my start page is, or how you change yours, or both?

Depending on what computer it is, my home page is either chiefdelphi.com, google.com, or about:blank

you'd be surprised. google is my homepage too.

i even have a collection going of all of the images they use on their main page for holidays.

i dont need chief as a homepage because i can type the link in about 3 seconds :)

And to Andrew- go to IE, select TOOLS, select INTERNET OPTIONS..., and there is a field where you will be able to enter a website name. If that ISNT your problem and you have another browser set as your default (i wasn't quite sure of the question), you need to find a list of what programs open what files and change them around. Good luck.

Window Blinds is one of those programs.
The link below shows a flash animation of
a bunch of skins you can apply to your desktop/windows/etc

That gives you the ability to make your Windows Interface look like MAC (or anything, really)

I used it for a little bit. But got tired of having to think about where all of my commonly-used things were, so i switched back to regular old win2k.

As long as the world is still turning, there will always be a preference in computers....as well as cars, as well as long distance, as well as politicians, as well as....well, you get the idea.

And as long as the world is turning, people are going to choose a side and argue their point, and most likely aren't going to change their point. Take solace in the fact that also as long as the world is turning, there will always be two sides.

it may be that in the world of businesses there is always gonna be copying and stealing of other peoples intellectual property...but why would you do something if it wouldnt mean profits to you. microsoft takes macs idea and creates windows to make money. if it didnt make money they woulda dropped windows and stuck with dos. and the very fact that by stealing macintosh ideas microsoft make a profit is sorta indicative that what microsoft turned into windows, macs idea, is better then dos
also, wether or not microsoft does someday make something more powerful then the twin g4's is irrelevant cuz macintosh did it first...but lets play this game and pretend that it is relevant and that microsoft then makes a ton of money off it...then wouldnt 2 of microsoft's major products have been taken right from macintosh pretty much?

Methinks you need a lesson in who makes what. Intel
and AMD make processors that Microsoft's Windows
Operating System runs on (as well as other OSes
including Linux, OS/2, BeOS, etc.). Microsoft will
not ever make anything "faster" than a dual G4
because they don't make processors nor do they make
computers. Motorola makes the processor that Apple
uses in the computers they make. Apple also makes
the Macintosh OS. So let's look at competitors here.
Apple competes with Microsoft on software. Intel
and AMD compete with Motorola on hardware. You can
make software faster but normally you make software
slower by adding more features. You can also make
hardware faster. So really Intel and AMD don't make
anything faster than dual G4's (which is a claim I'd
debate -- speed is dependant on a lot of things
including what precisely you're doing and other
hardware besides the processor such as RAM, video
card, bus speed, hard drive speed, etc.). So at
least you can argue about the right things now...

You can debate over macs vs. PCs *or* macOS vs. Windows vs. UNIX, but the fact is, Bill Gates owns a heck of a lot of Apple stock (I think about 10%). Remember, Microsoft products are one of the most popular software on Macs as well. And most Mac users I know run Windows emulators. Plus, I don't see any Mac-sponsored FIRST teams out there......

And I don't see any Microsoft sponsored ones either.
;) There was one last year however that was just
Microsoft employees, not Microsoft corporation (or so
I was told). I would however like to point out that
Motorola (that makes the G4) is a big sponsor of
FIRST. I do believe that Intel sponsors at least one
team as does Sun. So maybe we should all use Sun
workstations? I could agree to that. ;)

1 I don't know about this crazy windows emulator,
because i personally have never seen or heard of
one until now. but I assume that if such
rediculosities exist, it's because people want to
use pc software on a mac computer, which in and
of itself is a foolish plan
2 if i was loaded like bill gates and as money
grubbing as he is, i would buy up large portions of
good companies too.
and
3 microsoft software is popular because it is a
monopoly and can put other software companies
out of business, leaving consumers with little or no
choice.

about that 'rediculosity'...it seems even more foolish since windows is essentially a mac-emulator in and of itself...therefore a windows emulator is basically a thing that lets you knock off a knock off of what youre already running...

one little quote sparked a monstrous debate...congrats to you, ameya agaskar, for starting all this, even if you are misguided in youre allusion that pc's are somehow superior to macs
