I have been recently playing Solitaire alot ever since school has been over. I am getting a little better at it as you can see here (http://www.geocities.com/solitairemaster/index.html). I was wondering if there any other FIRST Robotics people on this forum are good at Solitaire.
Also on that site I show a screen shot of what happened when I was able to crash Solitaire. I can now do it when I want to.
lol, how do you crash solitare? the only program in windows that's less basic is like, notepad :p. i haven't played much solitare, but my brother has been lately. not sure how good he is though.

Minesweeper conquers all.
:D
I hate solitaire. My mom sits and plays that stupid game for an hour straight sometimes. Funny thing is, she yells at me for being on the computer too long, except im usually doing something productive...
i'm the most addicted to minesweeper that you'll ever see! I was working for an engineer and most days no one had anything to do, so for about 4 out of the 9 hours a day that i worked, i was playing minesweeper. Thank goodness my intership is over!
oh yeah, can anyone beat expert in less the 142 seconds? thats my best!

heh
Another reason to hate MS:
They seem to have convinced everyone that "Solitaire" is "Klondike", when actually Solitaire is practically any game you can play by yourself (though this is usually a term used to refer to card games).

I was able to crash Solitaire by right clicking alot. When you right click all card that can be sent to the suit decks are sent up there. Sometimes after awhile the game will crash. I crash on average once a day, just for fun.
I also came up with a new idea. Who would be interested at have a Solitaire compotition at one of the FIRST Robotics Compotitons? This gives everyone about eight months to get ready. Maybe I will do this if I remember.
I thought you ment the magnify-ing glass cheat.....
oh well, I think that only worked in WFW 3.11....

I'd hate to tell you but the microsoft game is solitaire. In fact there are 30 versions of solitaire I can play right now.
I'm currently addicted to spider solitare.... can only do medium with the 2 suits... how do you do expert?! lol, anyone else play spider?

try 107 seconds! oh yeah! *does funky happy dance*:D
my friend and i are insane when it comes to minesweeper. i remember once at a robotics meetings (we must've been waiting for food or something... we we're being very productive, lol), my friend and i were battling it out. we each were trying to get the fastest time on one of the computers in the sci lab. when one would leave the computer, the other would try to out do the other's score on expert. when one of us would, she would screm out that she won :p and the other would cry out in agony . everyone thought we were crazy ;). oh the many fond memories of robotics.

Minesweeeper - beginner in 3 seconds once. Under 10 on a regular basis. Haven't played it in a long time though.
Solitare - I'm assuming everyone plays Vegas style with 3 cards at a time? I'm good - my wife is better.
Spider Solitare - I only play at the easy level. Best score is 1208 which is not bad.
Freecell is a really good version.
Lately I've been playing too much Internet Reversi. One of my students wanted to play in real life for his grade. Poor kids came out on the bad end of that deal. :)
The easiest way to show low scores in Minesweeper is to edit the file C:\Windows\winmine.ini
But, if you want a good time without cheating, i can beat a rubik's cube consistantly under 5 min and I once had a time of 3:37. Can anyone top that?

Can't say I'm that fast. I'm too cautious. When I solve expert, it's usually around 300 secs.
But to make it more interesting, I have taken to NOT flagging the mines. When you finally have exposed the last free spot, it's quite dramatic when all the flags appear at once.
And another thing... Has anyone ever seen an "8" in Minesweeper? I have only once.

I've seen a 1 in mine sweeper, expert mode. Then again, I was editing the ini file :)
Fooled a couple people though..
I think he was refering to a square with 8 mines around it, which I have only seen in a custom mode....

I didn't edit the .ini file. :D This is an actual unretouched screen shot. (Aside from converting to .jpg format to save downloading time.) Can you figure out my secret?

This one I did retouch just to show what the "8" looks like.

too bad you weren't a little closer when you made a new "Best Times" window, that isn't what the minesweeper one looks like at all. But, nice try... just out of curiousity, what did you use to make the window? VB, C++?

That is excatly what it looks like for me.
It wouldn't suprise me if there were diffrent versions for teh diffrent flavors of Windows. I myself am running 2000.

Jolly good show.
Windows 2000 is the only version of windows that I would ever consider running.
in win2k what happens if you go over 999? I know in 98se it just stops counting.

I thought I started a thread about my high scores in Solitaire, but now it just seems to be about Minesweeper. So much for that I guess.
