Just a random question I thought of:

Were we supposed to return the alliance captain bibs (see my pic ) or could we keep them? I kept mine, i was wearing it all the way home lol.....just something i was thinking about because I remembered I didn't see them at nationals, all they used was like a piece of tape I think...lol

whats wrong with taking some signs....dont they get tossed in the trash anyway? Heck they should be glad that you took them to save trash space and cleanup time

Haha, DJ - You're one to talk about stealing signs! ;) As long as you can justify your reasoning, I guess ... then it's all good, right?

Actually, all of the big signs, even those that are event-specific, are saved to use more than one year, as long as the elements don't beat them up too much...

hmm, that means they need a new sign for NYC next year...

(and no, I didn't take it ;))

Ontop of my friends monitor is a sign that says
"We are not responsible for lost or stolen articles"
it was from the Info booth at Nationals 2001.
Me and my friends distracted the nice, very informational ladies there.
Then when we got home there was several weeks of stealing it from one another.

At some sites, they will leave the carpet(if it's not being used at another event) with an area team. So that doesn't really count...

Thank you for putting up a good fight with us. We know how trully strong you are. After my spurradic-out-of-the-nowhere crying ended, I put things into perspective. Thanks again for putting up a hard and enduring fight with us. Hope to keep a conection with you guys in future years.

The alliance thing.... we didn't have the wearable Alliance Captain things at MidAtlantics this year. We had white jazzy hats this year.

It wasn't what you would call stealing, but I think it was at the Canadian Regional where the carpet was so torn up that the FIRST officials invited all the teams to rip it up and take home pieces of it as souvenirs.

One of our former team members has the "Newton" sign from the 2001 Nationals. It was really funny though, because his last name is Newton.

Anyone ever "borrowed" a street sign?

Katie Reynolds
16-07-2002, 13:33
Some former members of our team "borrowed" a piece of a railroad track (the track had been abandoned, luckily)

those are all small stuff. we have a big sign from the 2002 FL. NATL's pit area. luckily no one spotted a blue truck with 2 of our students in the back "borrowing the sign" If i'm not mistaken i have a picture of it somewhere and provide a working link to it.

Nice signs David. You have us all beat in quantity how about size. hehe
