Hi all,

Background:
My district is totally bought into having a STEAM (stem + art), space to upgrade our facilities into the 21st century (I know..we are already there).

I am aware of all the machinery I'd like for my team (cnc's, lathes, mills, welding areas, saws, etc.) and that I'd like a dedicated CAD, field, and assembly areas. Also storage solutions for parts, raw materials. And a space for class type space (desks etc).

Overall I need to put together a wishlist of things, and I pretty much have full reign on the layout and flow of this.

To get the space reconfigured and/or built/extended, I want to sell this as a district engineering/robotics center.

Question:
If anyone has had a space redesigned with FIRST and/or robotics in mind, would you mind sharing the layout/design with me? I am having trouble finding great layouts for this type of space. Pictures/plans would be great.

Thank you so much.

IIRC, FRC624 just finished the construction of something similar. They have some contact info at the bottom of their website: http://team624.org/

That is a beautiful place.

The pictures in these links don't do it justice.

Our school/team is also looking at creating a large space. There is some talk about turning some of the old Grumman facilities into a space. Being our close proximity we will probably face similar challenges. Ours is a little farther off though than yours at first glance.

If you need any help we would be very willing to assistant your team in creating the space.

I would be happy to share our shop layout. Send me your email address and I can post our layout with pictures.

This is more of an FRC-specific example but still worth sharing imo...

Wow. 624 is exactly what I was thinking. I would love to get my hands on the layout. I am trying to piece it together from the pictures on the websites.
