Tricks on them. I was able to get my good friends at CSI to enhance the reflection off the glasses of the man carrying the standards. I now know what the entire game pool looks like.

Red indicates debits or negative numbers. It's confirmed! Stronghold is an accounting game.
I think it is safe to say hover boards will not be a game piece this year. Everyone knows how poorly hover boards do over water.....

I don't know what blasphemy this is. Everything thus far points to a water game, just as all the hints leading up to all other games have all indicated a water game. It's just one of those facts about the universe.

Interestingly, GameSense did not have a post Championship episode with Frank in which he explicitly stated that the 2015 game was not a water game. (https://youtu.be/pFLiajjcYi0?list=PLIY-TB1MAu-XQNLZbqxcmbPsWa_DcNr2u&t=205)

Nope, never happened. Any evidence to the contrary is clearly fabricated. The only valid game hints are those that support the water game hypothesis, preferably via complicated and increasingly tenuous "logical" arguments.
That's how the pre-season works, right?
Did anybody else notice the suggestive language of a "security breach" of the "stronghold reveal"? I'm going to bend my thinking a bit more towards building and demolishing barriers built with neutral materials.

An army of ducks!

Look at the banner guy walk by and the light that he fixates on, and the sound of charging army in the background. This is a great addition to FRC's new branding campaign for the game this year!

My theory:
What if the game will turn out to be CTF, but we won't play with flags.
No, we're going to play with something even harder to manipulate: Rubber chickens.
Those duck's in the background aren't an army, they are a truck load of game pieces being dumped.

My guess based on the evidence is that each alliance starts out with a castle... made of lego bricks or some such. Then a certain amount of ammunication. You have to shoot down the opposing alliance's castle to capture their flags.
So your alliance would have to rebuild the castle while destroying theres. We'd have defense and offense and build. Teams that worked alone would not have enough time to do it all.
NO! The game pieces are Barbary Hens! For cannot you also build a Stronghold out of stone?

Quite a ways back (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1500701&postcount=273), I noted how the manipulators on robot in the teaser video seemed appropriate to build a structure of Lego blocks.

As for some who has worked field reset before that would be a nightmare to rest for every single match especially if you have to get through 204 qualification matches oh the horror it would be to reset unless they are big like gigantic Lagos it would be horrible to reset.

Quartering (http://www.theheraldrysociety.com/articles/marshalling_and_cadency/quartering.htm) of a shield or flag is a traditional way of combining two or more different shields/flags into one. To most in the U.S. the most likely examples you've seen would be the flag of Maryland (http://msa.maryland.gov/msa/mdmanual/01glance/html/symbols/flag.html) and the Crest of Hogwarts (https://www.universalorlando.com/Merchandise/Gift/Harry_Potter/Accessories/Hogwarts_Crest_Patch.html). It should be noted that quartered devices are read from top right (of the shield bearer, not the viewer) to the left, then down. From the point of view of someone looking at the flag, it's read in the same order as English, making sable (black) the first color to be listed in the description.

So I don't think that anybody actually reviewed the admin manual for the potential hidden game hint (though I don't know this for a fact, I've never read previous admin manuals this closely):
In order to make the most of practice time, there will be specified teams on the field
during an assigned practice slot. Each team must be respectful of the other teams
sharing the field. Friendly interaction between machines is acceptable, if all teams
are willing. Unsportsmanlike conduct on the part of a team during practice could
result in loss of practice time or other unfavorable action.
"Friendly interaction between machines is acceptable, if all teams are willing". I read this to mean that interaction is optional in this game - but possible and would be friendly, not heavy defensive play.
This of course could be nothing....

This is a standard line in the admin manual. Basically, practice matches are intended to be practice--defense, leave the offense alone!--but part of that practice can include interaction (coop, defense, etc) if everybody involved is willing.
However, when quals roll around, all bets are off. Any defense not banned by the manual may be applied regardless of whether or not the team it's applied to wants it.
Again, standard section in the manual, nothing to see here.

Fairly certain this is the normal language. Also, this describes most games. If you really didn't want to interact in most years you can. But you will usually score better by interacting with the other teams (offense and defense). I wouldn't read too much into it.
Edit: One more thing. There is at least one thread if not more dedicated to the release of the Administrative Manual. You should post things related to it in there, not in the thread about the video they released.

Anybody else see that light that he fixates on? There was definitely a motive behind looking up there. It looks like a cylinder of light or something - not a standard gym light bulb. I think that might have something to do with it because he leaves the standard shot that he had been running the whole rest of the video just to take that shot of the light for a few sec. What do you guys think?

I would like to point out some things that may have been missed.
The first, there is a ladder in the back behind Jake when he's giving his little intro... Not sure you necessarily need a ladder to set up an FRC game field, unless it's for the lights above, or perhaps something else.
Second, they really seem to be focusing on the words "fabrication" and "building". This may not mean anything but the phrase
This video contains no game hints. Also, the rumor that the recently released 2016 FIRST Robotics Competition Administrative Manual contains a hidden game hint is a total fabrication.
seems like it could have been worded better. The word fabrication at the end could have easily been replaced with another word that makes much more sense.
Now, I'm probably blowing all of this out of proportion, and it probably means nothing, but I just figured I would point it out.
The first, there is a ladder in the back behind Jake when he's giving his little intro... Not sure you necessarily need a ladder to set up an FRC game field, unless it's for the lights above, or perhaps something else.
Every FRC field has a ladder with it. Lights, "high" wiring, and tall objects all need it. 2015 didn't need it except for maybe the player station lights; 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011, and 2010 needed it for access to "high places" of various stripes. 2009 didn't need it except for the player station equipment. 2008, 2007, and 2006 all needed it.
Also, there's nothing indicating that it wasn't being used by the production folks who would be doing the actual filming. Odds of needing a ladder during that sort of thing? Pretty high.
Some crazy speculation based on the background sounds in the security breach video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKLxlVIapRU) and the blueprint (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/media/img/84d/84d9529a9136d32e5347f0371e6aa498_l.jpg):
at 0:04 of the video - sound of camera focusing = using autonomous (dead-reckoning/vision) or semi-autonomous (Holo Lens), robots gather pieces of large scoring objects (red/blue "cannonballs (https://iheartdogs.com/1-amazing-toy-with-15-ways-to-play-your-dog-will-never-be-bored-again/)") from the field and deposit them for their human players to use during the following fabrication phase.
from 0:05 to 0:13 - sound of fabrication = human players assemble cannonballs and introduce them along the overhead (2010-like) track to mid-field where they proceed across a a semi-circular trough and fall into a common/central/castle-looking stack. The alliance with the top colored scoring piece in the stack at the end of the match gets points for capturing the stack. Meanwhile, alliance robots use items pre-staged on the field to enhance a stronghold at their end of the field in preparation for the protection of their small scoring objects and movable goals.
from 0:13 to 0:16 - sound of dozens of squeaky seagull toys (Visigoths descending on Rome) from Frank's September 3rd blog (http://www.firstinspires.org/node/7491) = offensive phase where an alliance's offensive-minded robots move to the opposite end of the field and attempt to collect small scoring objects. Defensive robots may stay behind to protect their own stronghold.
from 0:16 to 0:25 - reversing (https://www.freesound.org/people/Disasteradio/sounds/197166/) = robots reverse and head back to their own end of the field to deposit and score the stolen small scoring objects into their goals. Bonus points if all robots on an alliance fit within their stronghold.
Possibilities:
match winner is the alliance with the most small scoring objects scored in their own goals at the end of the match
tie-breaker is the difference between the winning score and the losing score in all qualification matches, a lower number ranks higher
no projectiles as these would make the team standards a safety concern (although SECURITYBREACH almost = SCARY TREBUCHET)
the goals are the ball reset cylinders from the 2014 game (shown illuminated at 0:16 of the video)

A recent thought that I had about the blog post was that the blog post itself might be a hint. After all, Frank explicitly stated that the video contained no game hints. The title of the post seems a hint enough to me: "Security Breach". The idea of surpassing security fits well with the Stronghold game since a stronghold is meant to keep opponents out, and a security breach is one of the ways for said opponent to get in (or, rather, security breach is the term used once someone has passed the stronghold's defenses). If anything, this blog post is further evidence that the goal of the game is to beat the defenses (i.e. get to a point on the field that is being defended). This works well with the "Capture the Flag" theory. It is becoming clear, however, that offensive play (such as shooting "cannonballs" into a goal), if such play exists, will only be secondary in purpose to the main play (breaching the Stronghold's security).

It could be that you need to shoot X numbers of cannon balls into a target before a drawbridge is lowered, and your robot can cross (breach) the other team's defenses.

Not sure what all of the fuss is - The Stronghold Boardgame (http://www.coolstuffinc.com/p/218413?gclid=Cj0KEQiAzai0BRCs2Yydo8yptuIBEiQAN3_lF o0uQc1p9tLE4T5nH6RA_nFPCI9zcd2OBexXyxkr7JkaAtTf8P8 HAQ) is something those who enjoy Euro-style boardgames have known about for a while, and it really looks like 2016's game will be very similar. I've only played it once, and it was a whirlwind. I just hope our 'infinite legion' isn't a bucket of squawking ducks ...
It'll be interesting to see if strategies are similar, though like with most things I don't know if the board game strategies will project properly into a live moving 'thing'.

Another game idea that would be cool regardless of whether or not it's the actual game is the idea of "claiming" goals. Say you have to score balls in goals, but the points for the balls only count if you place your team flag on top of the goal. You can also descore the opponent's flags or defend someone trying to descore. There is one big point (5/ball) goal in the middle, with smaller point goals around the rest of the field.
A winning alliance would require both flags and balls to be scored.

Nice product placement....... FRC 2016 Stronghold- Teams must put flags into coca-cola bottles
'Security breach' a red herring if anything at all. Medieval theme = possible "King of the Hill" component. Flags may play a part in game but unlikely to require direct manipulation by robots. Guess we will know more in 4 days:D

... Also, Team Standards do not replace the flags or other team pride items many teams give to the event MCs to flourish when introducing them before matches. MCs will still be using these items to introduce teams, so bring them on! ...
Not quite. Just an additional item to reinforce the 'theme' of the game.

No, we've known about this for a while. They're called team standards. The design regulations have already been released. Google 'frc 2016 team standards' and you'll see what I'm talking about.
