Hi CD,
This might be a stupid question, but kickoff has a live stream, right?
In this link (http://www.firstinspires.org/robotics/frc/kickoff), it says that there will be a kickoff streaming from Comcast's website, but I'm not sure when it is going to start.
Our team is planning to watch the kickoff in-house instead of going to a local kickoff for the first time. I'd rather be safe than sorry. :o
Yes. According to the kickoff page on FIRST (http://www.firstinspires.org/robotics/frc/kickoff), the kickoff runs from 1000-1200 EST. (that's 1500-1700Z).
We're planning the same, and inviting other local teams to join us, though we're sending a mentor to the Stennis kickoff (only 2 zip codes and one state line away!) to get our KoP.

Does anyone know when the kickoff broadcast actually starts? Having a two hour window for a traditionally 30ish minute event is a little confusing.
According to last year (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=131858&highlight=kickoff+2015+time), the broadcast started at 10:15. I also assume this (http://corporate.comcast.com/news-information/news-feed/2016-first-robotics-competition-kickoff) is the link.

Usually, the actual animation video and stuff is at the end of the two hour window. I would recommend you watch the entire thing though, it usually has some interesting news and advice and stuff.
Could the long window mean a longer kickoff more like those from years past?

I believe it has always been listed as 10:00 to 12:00. Remember, there are some speeches before the actual game animation, then the game animation itself, and then the field tour videos, which then repeat.
