"short lived" why? Any noticeable problems?
Also, I cant see it in the picture, how do you transfer power from motors to the chains inside the triangle?

Did one of your mentors love the movie Damnation Alley as a kid?

Almost, however design on the video does not drive the tri-wheel itself.

And how does one make a bumper for this?
Figure that out, and the world is yours.

No bumpers for FTC!
Unless you're Jordan from 3550 of course.

Lucky. Hmm... I bet I COULD fit a bumper on that...

I made it just as a proof of concept without much of teams support. Short-lived because while it was functional, it was seriously under powered. Gearing it down would decrease the speed too much. Without extra motors and a gearbox that would allow to use them to increase torque I couldn't make it work and without team's support I just run out of energy to push it forward.
Also, I cant see it in the picture, how do you transfer power from motors to the chains inside the triangle?
If you look at 2 motors in between the tri-wheels, they drive axle that connected to the sprocket inside the assembly.
Tri-Wheel assembly itself driven by:
Vertical motor
4:1 Worm gerbox
Long Axle
Sprocket
Chain
Sprocket (Outside of frame)
Dead axle hub
Tri-Wheel Plate
Last 3 are connected together.
I hope this helps.
On this photo may be a little easier to see:

we also had a team member focus on tri wheels without much support. We tested today with success.

Tried to see the video, but it does not exist. I very much would like to see your team's implementation.

aha, video works now.
It doesn't look like you are driving tri-wheel assembly itself. it may help with the last defense (starting at 0:34)
