Has anyone ever heard/seen a way to convert into/out of quicktime?

There isn't that much out there for free encoders. But I know the best way to transfer Quicktime into and out to is buy using Quicktime Pro. (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/). Its $30, but it is worth it, if you are going to do a lot of converting.
There are others that can transfer all of WMP, Real, and Quicktime, but those solutions are about $200.
