View Full Version : Team Standard Questions
Are team standards going to be used every year? (As in do we need to leave more space for history patches for following years)
Will team flags still be used this year? From "5.5.9 Special Equipment Rules," it doesn't look like it but I was just wondering.
Answer to 1: We don't know. I wouldn't be surprised either way.
Answer to 2: This was discussed in the FRC Blog back when the standards were announced, but the long and the short of it is YES! They are used by the MC as usual (seeing as the standards are above the castle and rather hard to get to).
I don't expect team standards as specified this year to be a regular thing; they're part of the theme for 2016, and would interfere with any games with goals located broadly above the alliance walls. That stated, I would not be surprised if some sort of delivery and display mechanism for the equivalent of the "history patch" becomes an FRC fixture as of this year. That is, I expect the idea but not the 2016 implementation to carry forward.

Agreed - I think the medieval style standards are game themed for 2016 but I like the concept and would love to see it carried forward to future years.
I would expect each year to start fresh with a new set of patches for the events each team goes to.

I could also see there being screens on the driver stations eventually displaying team number and some graphics in a lot nicer of a fashion then then the current overhead displays. That said no I don't think team standards will carry over.
