We're building a drive train that can go over the 4" bump and an inverted wedge to deal with the teeter totters. Then we are going to shoot balls into the high goal.

(oh wait, that actually works for this game too :) )

We decided to participate in Robot in 3 Days, but to make sure we enforce our own cutoff time, we won't open our KoP until exactly 3 days before the midnight after Robot Stop Build Day.

Until then, we are meeting daily to take on the challenge of taste testing every local pizza place in the area and then ranking which ones we'd prefer during those three build days. (Note: Little Caesar's has been voted out... wayyy out)

At the risk of tilting at windmills and putting this thread back on track:

We've moved from strategy to design and begun prototype. As of Thursday, we had built our first (motorless) prototype chassis using larger than 8" wheels. We have a backup chassis design based on multiple ranks of FRC 8" and smaller wheels still working as a plan B. We have selected the general location and operation of our boulder pickup and launcher, which will fit on either of those chassis designs. Tomorrow (Saturday, really one week in), we'll build a powered prototype of plan A to verify defense crossings, and continue maniplulator engineering! If Plan A fails or looks iffy, we'll place orders to prototype Plan B.

We've done the analysis and decided what our robot priorities are. This drives mechanism and drivetrain designs.

We've built the field elements.

Teams are working on assembling the kit chassis and prototyping shooters.

Teams are wiring up the control system and learning how to make it go.

Teams are working on various other software challenges and wish lists like integrating a camera and driver station controls.

We are busy!
