machine vision issues

this is our teams first year using Java (all previous years we used labview). i would like to know what other teams are doing regarding machine vision and java, and where i can find information on programing machine vision in java.

i have already read this page. i didn't find i much help especially considering that last i tried NIVision assistant will not generate java code.
