Just wondering if anyone knew the general schedule of the competition. We have people who may attend from that area, and would like to tell them when we will actually be at the competition. Thanks!

Talk to your leader who set-up this trip. He/She should of talked to the guy, I believe his name is Michael Wade, about the schedule.
Basically recalling from memory:
*Robots must be down by the 22nd for VIP stuff. Check with your entry sheet to verify the correct date.
*Teams must be there on Friday, will be obstacles and practice, to please the audience.
*Competitions will start Saturday at 9 or 10 (Check with that) until about dinner time. This will be the same schedule for Sunday and Monday
*There will be about 24 matches per team for this whole competition.
*The robot limit will be raised to 140 pounds
* There will be a square in the goal zones, if you get a certain number of casters, you can get an extra 5 points
Ok that is what I remember from memory, better check with your leader for complete details.

Umm..well..our team won't be there Friday, because we have school, but anyways.....
competition usually has started around 10 in the morning, and goes until dinner time (6 or 7 pm)? similar to a regional time line?

The Team meeting is Saturday at 9 AM (we only got hotels for Saturday and Sunday - we have to leave Richmond at 5! ::dies:: ).
I know that there are some events on Friday that happen, starting at 12 and going on till whenever. Those are things like the maneuverability and ball handling courses.

SO, from what I have seen. It will be very similar to a Regional set up. I am going to assume that the competition will start around 9-10 every morning, and end before 8 at night. Correct me if I am wrong.
Also, I am guessing that there is some type of pit area. Is this pit area found near the competition area. Will teams pits be easily found?

Pits will be under the same tent. The only thing that will probably happen (it did last year and the attending teams liked this) is to mix the teams up only because we want to let all the teams get to know different teams. We are outside, and will only put the sides of the tent up if it starts raining and at night. Keep this in mind because we did have rain last year, but only 5 of the teams had water in some of their pit. (Similar situation to Disney in 2001 except we don't have a floor to place on top of the blacktop in the pits) Also, keep in mind there are half the number of teams at this event as their are at most regionals. You'll get to know all of the teams well and not have a problem finding anyone.
Schedule for the day will be similar to a regional. The days of competition will end around dinner time. At night of these days the field is open to any teams that would like to practice more or demo their bot. Unlike an event, we do not have a practice day, the competiton starts Saturday.

You have access to your bot any time you want.
I went by the Md. State Fair site earlier today. It is now officially my favorite competition location. 100 yards outside the front gate, right across the street, there is a KRISPY KREME store!!!!
