I'm trying to update the firmware on a fresh new roboRIO, but cannot get a web browser to connect to it.
I'm connected via USB from a Win 10 laptop, and using Internet Explorer it fails to connect to http://172.22.11.2
The laptop has the FRC update suite installed, the NI USBLAN is there, I have an IP address from it (172.22.11.1) and can ping 172.22.11.2. There are no other active network connections on either the laptop or the roboRIO.

do you have NPAPI installed (specifically Silverlight??) you can check by - Type silverlight in your Start search box. If you see Microsoft Silverlight at the top, you had it installed.
OR, Start button > All Programs > scroll down to find Microsoft Silverlight. You find it, you got it.
- from http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_programs/how-do-i-know-if-i-have-silverlight-installed/bfa9575b-fae0-49a1-8846-0a1b0728f492?auth=1#ThreadAnswers
It may be in the roborio itself, but this could explain the issue with the web interface.

Yes, Microsoft Silverlight does show up in my start menu.
Plus the message is "Hmm, we can't reach this page" rather than something like "you need the Silverlight plugin".

Bah!
When I hit http://172.22.11.2/ from Chrome, I get "Please install the Silverlight plugin".
When I follow the link there to install Silverlight, the installer tells me that it's already installed.
I can't win.
Chrome no longer supports NPAPI plugins. Try Firefox.

Okay, Firefox seems to be happy to use the installed Silverlight plugin, so I've got the web dashboard. Now if I can only find the firmware file....
Found it, and it's transferring the update image.
Thanks for everyone's help.

From the WPI screensteps site on upgrading firmware,
(http://wpilib.screenstepslive.com/s/4485/m/13503/l/273817-updating-your-roborio-firmware)
Browse to Program Files\National Instruments\Shared\Firmware\cRIO\76F2\ Program Files(x86) on 64 bit and select the latest firmware, then click Open (this image shows version 2.0.0f1).

Yeah, both "Program Files" and "Program Files (x86)" had National Semiconductor\Shared directories, but on this 64-bit laptop I found the firmware only under the x86 (32 bit) path.
Thanks.
