It was noticed by my team that there were no barriers on the batter (6in at 60 degree angles). Is this mirroring the actual setup? This could be a huge game changer for some teams.

They are there. Just very hard to see.

Yeah those barriers are clear. Which, as you noticed, makes them hard to see, which is already making them a visible challenge for the drivers to get around.

ah, thanks. I'll relay that to my team.
A team was attempting to challenge the tower at the end of the match while the teamate next to him was scaling. The robot couldn't posistion itself properly and ended up going over the batter barrier. This caused the scaling teamate to fall and ultimately crush the challenging robots. This is the worst thing that you could have happen when you are trying to scale. Imagine the semicircle of the batter is divided into three sections (which it is). Be very careful not to cross into another batter section that a teamate is on. It's well worth taking caution to prevent your robot from being crushed.
Yes, I see them on the videos just barely. Clear plastic in front of steel is really hard to see. While I didn't spend much time on them (more a minor obstacle in challenging than anything else), I expected them to be opaque or at least translucent.

Wouldn't that make them an invisible challenge for the drivers to get around?
