Can we have a running total of time devoted to someone using a drill? I really want to know if John's post (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1539600&postcount=2) was warranted/influential.
Code Red always has a pretty unique approach to the game. Interested to see whether Neutrino runs with Swerve this year, or breaks out some other crazy drivetrain.
Obligatory s/o to KC powerhouses 1806 and 1986.

Oh yes, Code Red has a very unique approach this year. I can't tell you, you'll just have to wait and see.

I was contemplating whether or not 16 was going to do swerve in a year like this..
Shouldn't have second guessed!
Can't wait for tomorrow night!

All you MAR folks better keep an eye on them!

This is a very good group of teams. I started compiling which ones I was most excited for and got all of these!
16 Bomb Squad
166 Chop Shop
234 Cyber Blue
303 T.E.S.T. Team
333 The Megalodons
1156 Under Control
1676 The Pascack Pi-oneers
1806 S.W.A.T.
1902 Exploding Bacon
1923 The MidKnight Inventors
1986 Team Titanium
2283 Panteras
2471 Team Mean Machine
3880 Tiki Techs
5030 The Second Mouse
Special shoutout to Team 303 for letting us practice at their facility despite the fact that they did not have a robot fielded (It was week 5) nor will ever compete with us unless we get to CMP. That my friend is GP at its finest!
I will have to agree with all of those and add 1540 to that list haha.

I think there are exceptions to this rule.
The Robonauts use of 2 drills for painting their Meccanum wheels was a great piece of videography - it took three viewings before I understood what they were doing - clearly students having good hard fun! Every team probably has these little quirky moments in the build season which bring a smile in reflection.

Glad to see some of our MN brethren in the list...
2052 KnightKrawler
2502 Talon Robotics
2512 Duluth East Daredevils
4536 MinuteBots
3928 Team Neutrino (yes, from Iowa - close enough as they have called North Star home for so many years)
It will be a FUN night tomorrow!

This is gonna be epic.. I can't wait to tune into this tomorrow!
Robots I am looking forward to seeing based of the 49 teams that are doing this:
16, 68, 234, 303, 1806, 1902, 1923, 1986, 2054, 2338, 2471, 2481, 2502, 2512, 3928, 4143, 4536, 4607.

4607 will not disappoint... we really put great effort into the theme this year!
However, there is no shot from our beloved Becker Furniture World this year, sorry Tyler!
I have never seen a higher hype-per-second coefficient in one video than what I just watched (254 2014 reveal is a close second).
Its going to be hard to concentrate in school tomorrow :p.
Some really cool teams premiering tonight. Already recognised quite a few of them and can't wait to see what they can do. (25 Auto modes?! Are you kidding me?!)
Only thing I am surprised by is the fact that team 2826 Wave Robotics isn't revealing their robot during their own event. Atleast I expect this is a team effort and not a one man job.
You guy always have amazing bots and can't wait to see what you got for us this year!

Public response: We would like to provide other teams opportunities to present their robots instead of showcasing our own.
Real response: I wish we were ready to do a reveal video #f'ingbehind
Second: While I am the lead mentor on 2826. Wave Robotics is not affiliated with First Updates Now. There are five of us who put the show together (Myself, Mike, Justin, Collin, and Nik) from 3 different states.

Bison Robotics from NDSU will be having a streaming event on the night before we head out to Duluth for volunteering! I can't think of a better prelude to Duluth than the Premiere Night! Can't wait to see what everybody has in store.

254 is one of the best teams in the world. If there is any chance of another team copying even a small portion of their robot, they will avoid it at all costs.

That is not why.
I do not know the real reason however, it could be a number of things.
One big reason I am sure is the fact that FUN has a smaller fan base then 254. 254's robot reveal is always a big deal. Last year for instance they had huge hype around a single photograph released at 2:54pst before their first event.
But who cares! There are some very good teams premiering tonight and I am extremely excited!

Some may have seen our reveal video on FIRST Updates Now, and it didn't really show a ton of robot action. So here's a video (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ugHNU8ipiH8) that shows nothing but robot action.

It's quite likely that's at least part of it.
It also allows them to surprise their opponents for the first few matches if they haven't seen a widespread reveal video.

Interestingly, the Superfluous Drill Count only made it to 5 the entire night.
