Looks great! Brilliant minds think alike! I love how your design reminds me of my teams yet has plenty of differentiating characteristics! (12 wheel drive! )

I think the swerve stutter on the sally door was my favorite part. Incredible robot as usual!

Every year, I look at y'all's robot, and I remark to myself that your drivetrain is one of my favorite mechanisms in all of FRC; it is so refined and perfected, and y'all execute it so well. And it doesn't hurt that whatever you put on top of the drivetrain is always great as well. This year I really didn't think anyone would have good success with a swerve without a crazy amount of complexity, but once again The Bomb Squad produced a spectacular robot with a mesmerizing drive. Thank you for inspiring us all every year to keep innovating, your robots and team are a model of success.

Lots of requests for pictures of the drive base during the reveal show.

Thanks to JTN for the comp bot pic. Apologies to anybody who saw that practice bot mess. :)

You caught me as I was fixing it. Imgur is hard. :/ Try again.

Looks great as always - almost like looking in a mirror, except yours goes sideways. Love the swerve tank. I can see you went through the same design problems we did with the arm, shooter, hanger implementation. I like the way you solved them though.

Does the arm back drive if you don't get the chassis all the way up? Or are you not high enough if you don't go the rest of the way up?

See you in St. Louis.

It doesn't back drive. Horizontal to the floor gets the scale. Going all the way up puts less stress on the cylinder rods and clears out the bumber zone for the climber me next to us. We also think it looks pretty cool.

Thanks for the kind words. See you in STL.

Fantastic robot! I love the novel way you packaged the wheeled shooter into the arm.

Hey Mike. To answer your questions, no and no. See image below instead of my previous wordy explanation.

Edit: Just uploaded a screenshot of the video at about when it is legally "scaled" although it may not have to be this high: http://imgur.com/CEDBxdo

That is one beautifully-complex drivebase. Love it. Another great machine from the Bomb Squad. See you in STL! :)

What a bot!!! Way to go Bomb Squad! Love the integration work that went into that one mechanism. Floor pickup, climber, and shooter! Cannot wait to play with you guys in just a week!

I'm so confused, that doesn't look like a surgical tubing powered catapult at all

Amazing robot! Love how it does it all.

Wait, hang on, I know for a fact John was screaming "CATAPULT" on kickoff.

Cool bot, can't wait to poke around the modules this year.

Come to think of it, there's no sugical tubing on it anywhere. I can't remember the last Bomb Squad robot without sugical tubing.

We may have to find a place for some before inspection next week...

We use surgical tubing to hold the battery in place - maybe that would work...

TMW2012 did score a few boulders early in the season. :)
It was just too hard NOT to use the wheel shooter when we developed the do-it-all arm.

If EVER there was a year where I thought Swerve Drive was a mistake, I thought it was going to be this year... ...Bomb Squad's Black Widow has proven me wrong. The ramps plus 4 wheel drive 4 wheel swerve look really amazing.

Hear me now and remember me in St. Louis: With this bold design choice and beautiful execution, I think that Bomb Squad has among the strongest claims to a ticket to Einstein I have seen up to this point, especially given how relatively few swerve drive teams there will be this year. They are going to be playing dodgeball while almost everyone else is playing soccer.

Amazing robot, watching that swerve in action is mesmerizing

I was wondering:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anT0a50Z0x0&feature=youtu.be#t=1m16s

does that count as a damage point to the door?

Yes they are not contacting the door for a brief time and then go through. There is no rule on the state of the defense when traversing through. If there was helping your alliance by holding the sally port or draw bridge open wouldn't be allowed.

It was brought up on the FIRST Premiere Night that our hang is illegal. I'd like to clarify that it is not illegal. When we pull up we can rotate the robot as much as we like and still be within the boundaries because it is in the same configuration it would be on the floor.

Just to satisfy any concerns about our climb.
