My team has 2. Reason for 2 is in case 1 goes down.

The Primary Website is
Http://www.Robowizards.com

The Fallback website is
Http://robowizards.cjb.net

I am the moderator for the Fall back website

Both sites were created with the use of Microsoft Front Page 2002.

www.team696.org - Take a look, it's pretty good I think. A friend and I made it this past summer.

I use CoffeeCup HTML Editor and really like it. I use Firestarter Shareware for the intro flash. CoffeeCup has a few cool web programs available as trials and shareware too so take a look at www.coffeecup.com

For hosting, we wrote a letter to a local place and swung some free, ad-free hosting. It has no control panel but it is always up, 24/7 ftp access, no ads, and free.

So write a letter to your ISP or someplace nearby and tell them who you are and what you need.

If you prefer buying hosting, www.icdsoft.com seems really good. You get everything imaginable at $5 per month. However, they are in Asia so they could take you for your money and there would be nothing you could do about it: just a thought.

For domain name registration, nothing beats www.powerpipe.com $8 a year and YOU own the name. You also get free parking and e-mail forwarding while it's parked. PowerPipe also has hosting that is decent.

For thousands of Javascripts, visit http://javascript.internet.com

Hope all this helps.

www.team84.org that is the team page, and that's about all that can be said about it. it was not written in anything, it was done in one of those dumb editor 'drop and paste' programs. blah, go check it out

I have a page that I write my own basic html for. I only have pictures and a brief intro of the team, but feel free to check it out.

heres our teams site: http://www.no-spin.net/visteonfeds/

It might not even be working because i couldn't just get to it. But anyway it hasn't been changed from the 2001 FIRST season. No one this past year has gotten around to changing it. I think that someone might be doing web design this year. But, if they don't i think i might use frontpage and my bad html skills to change it.

Our site, www.cogsquad.org, is undergoing a major overhaul. Specificly in the PHP and Flash areas (or lack thereof).

http://www.lightningrobotics.com

I'm still working on this site and the info sections really aren't very impressive right now but believe me, the backend user systems is sweet :). My first php coding site, and i think it's going well.

We went with http://www.ipowerweb.com . 200 mb, a bunch of pop3 emails, free domain, mysql +php, and a bunch of other stuff for 7.95 a month or 95.40 a year. very good investment so far. Pretty affordable for teams. I would be interested if any other teams went through them.

As weedie said, our horrible current official team site is www.team84.org

In an attempt to show the advisors/team how ugly and lame the current webpage is, I created my own unofficial team page. http://evulish.is-a-geek.net/chuck (the page is only online if I'm in linux and online...*sigh*)

http://www.longwoodrobotics.org Errr.... Our website is old but it's not our fault.:) Our school is paranoid about not having our pictures on internet plus they won't let us update it as much as we'd like to.(That reminds me they spelled my name wrong on our website and Jui-Jitsu) Ooo well I'm hoping to put up a general robotics site but I'm not sure when. Btw does anyone know of a free script for searching throught a bunch of stuff.

http://www.adamsrobotics.com

Its sort of under development. I designed it in a mix of Frontpage (because I'm too lazy to enter lots of content by hand) and straight HTML (for everything else). I'm working on adding more dynamic stuff to the site.

Wow. Been forever since Ive been here but Im sure to one cares..anyway..

Our site is at http://www.spamrobotics.com currently but may be changing to http://www.spamrobotics.org.

I mainly write the code in notepad then stick it in FrontPage so I can instantly see where i screwed up.

As far as hosting goes..we're on some cheapie service now b/c we're kinda limited in the cash department but may have our site hosted on Asch Webhosting out of NJ.

If you're limited in the cash area, [begin_shameless_plug]I sell webspace. It looks like their cheapest plan (for 19.95) is like my vr100 (http://hosting.pubarso.com/plan.php?type=vr100) plan (12.95). The only difference I see is my plan gives 35 emails vs their unlimited emails, but im sure we can work something out in that area. :D

Anyway, I also have cheaper plans than the vr100, if you wanted to save even more money. The biggest difference between my plans is the amount of storage space, bandwidth, and email accounts. Send me a PM or email if you're interested. [end_shameless_plug] :)

Acutally, the students used frontpage, then I used notepad to strip out all the extra .... um.... stuff. :-)

The menu's were created using some javascript. It's called HierMenu, and it was availible for free until a few months ago. The company that created it, well, they want money now. thankfully I can continue to use the version I have under the orginal liscence.

I made an interface for the team's website, but I highly doubt it's going to be used, since it's so big. Here (http://www.geocities.com/mcdongle) it is.

I got 2 js errors. Line 122 and 1 i think. Didn't really look into what was wrong, but i think it was an object error. Nice logo, though as said, it sort-of big

Wow...that's an amazing interface. I'm good with Photoshop..but...not that good :-P The only thing is...anyone running a screen smaller than 1024x768 are gonna be feeling the effects of the horizontal scroll bar. But other than that...that is awsome.

Thanks all. I bunch of other people have been telling me they got errors, but I don't know why or where they're coming from. Does anyone know any other ways to make jpeg's smaller without decreasing dimensions or cranking down the compression slider to really small values?

Jack
14-11-2002, 21:33
The error is an object error:

<!-- text below generated by server. PLEASE REMOVE --></object></layer></div></span></style></noscript></table></script></applet><script language="JavaScript" src="http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mc/mc.js"></script><script language="JavaScript" src="http://domainpending.com/js_source/geov2.js"></script><script language="javascript">geovisit();</script><noscript><img src="http://visit.webhosting.yahoo.com/visit.gif?us1036899098" border=0 width=1 height=1></noscript>

I'm using IE 6.0 which might be the problem

hope this helps

Nice job with just using notepad (i like wordpad thought - lol) I'm assuming that the flash intro wasn't make in photoshop though.

Since you're a new team, great job on getting a site up so fast! :)

Yes, I did use Swish for the flash intro... but I don't really like it myself and dont think about it as a part of the site :) Thanks for your comments.
