The first thing I thought when I saw 2451 was "where the swerve at?"

So when a seven year old team does swerve twice it automatically becomes expected of them?
I think its a little insulting to the team to assume that they would decide to invest time and resources into a complex mechanism just because they know how to.

??? they're complimenting their past implementation of swerve because it was really good. I fail to see how this insults them
I'm really liking the look on this robot. Always nice to see some tall bots

If a team builds a two speed swerve in a game with no defence I expect nothing less of them for every subsequent game.

I have to say I am really impressed by your robot, and most of the tall robots have felt kind of lack luster to me up till now. I love the drawbridge mechanism and it seems like it will be the quickest of its kind in an actual match. But my favorite part is the way you shoot, I see no way to defend against that shot both in terms of location of the shot, and height of release.

Nice bot guys!
Along with most of the people, im a little surprised that you aren't using swerve. Guess we'll have to see how our version of your swerve drive handles the competition. See you either today or over the next few days at STL!
Chalk another one up for an IL team who can do swerve who chose not to for this year's game...and also went tall. It's almost like we had the same thoughts when analyzing the game this year. Lol.
Looking forward to seeing you guys in action this weekend!

I like the catapult. I don't think a swerve drive would do well this year; too many things to grab a wheel and tortouga the robot. Nice shot from the scaling rung! Cool LEDs too. What motors and gearboxes are used for the drivetrain?

The drive has 4 CIMs on it. 2-speed custom gearboxes with a separate PTO shifter to power our winch for hanging (I'll never get used to saying scaling). I don't have the exact gear ratios on hand but I'll post when I get my hands on that sometime tomorrow.

2.5fps and 8fps actual speeds.
