Hello FRC teams,
I have created this thread for where people can post the best matches strategically, or any noteworthy matches as well as a description of why the match is one of the best. I think it will be helpful to accumulate these matches so that people can see how the game is being played.
To start it off, here is a match from Northern Lights.
Semifinals 1, Match 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FA23LUPDESI
This match for a while was the highest combined score where in a week 1 tournament both alliances scored a capture.
Best Regards,

During qualification match 49 at Tech Valley the red alliance scored 16 boulders in the tower bringing it's strength down to -8 at the end of the match.

Finals 2 of TVR was also very exciting. Our alliance ended up winning the match 136-134 forcing a 3rd finals match.

The finals were such an intense matchup. They were exciting to watch, and really showcased how competitive an event Tech Valley was.

I hate that match.
Broken intake, started match with no air in tanks, dead 3rd robot at end and missing the automatic scale because of 1665. We were too nice trying to avoid him and could only shoot boulders after our tanks filled up.
Couldn't use our timeout and they threatened to disable us. Figured we could at least breach for most of match.
Great match though.

In Orlando I saw alliances taking advantage of this strategy quite a few times.
If a robot isn't leaving my side of the field in the last 30 seconds then they deserve to get tapped and give up the automatic climb. That's the risk you take when you play D. Make sure you have an exit strategy!

The finalist alliance at Central Illinois did not take advantage of this and could have tied match 2 if they did (and possibly won if they spent time scoring instead of getting on batter). I agree, though, that you have to take advantage of the opponents mistake.

Center Line Final Match 2: https://youtu.be/ye_YvixlYnY
#2 alliance of 3098, 503, 5915 was up 1-0 in the finals against the 4 seed of 1701, 5053, and 2048. Red wins 145-144, pushing the finals to 3, which red won.

I really enjoyed watching match 28 at CVR. I think it shows just how effective a defense can be this year. It was an exciting match to watch.
