I was wondering what type of encoder you guys use to control your shooter, or is it something else?

We use a VersaPlanetary Integrated Encoder (http://www.vexrobotics.com/vexpro/all/new-for-2016/217-5046.html) on the shooter. It was very reliable and super simple to hook up directly to the Talon SRX.
