Hi guys, so we are trying to get things together for the PNW District Championship, and we are wondering if we get the same 6hrs of work time between 2 day events , or if it is treated as a regional. Another thing, if we haven't used our 30lbs of extra, can we still work on something and have it be that extra weight?

A big thank you to everyone who has helped answer questions thru ought the season!

No, unfortunately there is no unbag time before the DCMP.

You do get your 30 lb withholding allowance for every event. It also resets after each event. So you can take a whole new 30 lbs.

There is before the Indiana DCMP. It all depends whether it is a two day or three day event.

Champs is not just a 3 day event, it is more like a 3.5 day event. It is also even worse than a Regional. At a Regional, you have load in on Wed, and you can work on your robot all day Thursday before Qualification starts on Friday.

At Champs, Load in starts at 1:00 on Wednesday, and Pits open at 4:00 pm. Practice rounds are 6:00-8:00 pm, and Qualifications start Thursday morning.

Between 1:00-4:00pm, a limited amount of people are allowed in the pit to build your pit, and prep your robot. Preping includes: Uncrate robot; get cleared to unbag; finalize your robot; get robot weighed; and then get robot inspected. Sometime in there, you waste 1 hour getting to/from the field for your one practice round. All that has to be done before 8:00 pm. It is very bad to skip your Practice Round. That is your Field Connectivity test. Even if your robot can't move, you should still go, just to make sure your robot connects on the field.

Basically, there is no time to enhance your robot in a material way, unless you do it Indy Pit Style.

You're talking about Champs in St. Louis. The thread is about DISTRICT Champs.... They are generally run like a regular regionals, except Indi apparently...

It was announced at the Troy District that FiM teams do NOT get an unbag period before MSC.

It was announced at the Troy District that FiM teams do NOT get an unbag period before MSC.And that is not new -- same rules have governed MSC (MIDCMP) since the beginning. See the Game Manual (https://firstfrc.blob.core.windows.net/frc2016manuals/GameManual/FRC-2016-game-manual-04.pdf), section 4.5, rule R16-F. Also the Administrative Manual (https://firstfrc.blob.core.windows.net/frc2016manuals/AdminManual/FRC-2016-admin-manual-05.pdf), section 5.5.
