2016 FRC 503 Frog Force Chairman's Submission

Frog Force 503 is honored to receive one of four 2016 Michigan FRC State Championship Chairman's Awards. This is a special win for us as well, as it marks our tenth Regional/District Championship Chairman's Award. Ever since our first win at the 2005 Detroit Regional, Frog Force has taken great pride in our RCAs/DCCAs. We will be competing alongside the other 70 or so Regional and District CMP winners at the World Championship in St. Louis this week (if you're one of them, good luck!)

We would also like to extend a special thanks to our sponsors, mentors, alumni, community partners, and everybody else who has made our success possible. We couldn't do what we do without the incredible support network we have.

What's always amazing to me is how different 503's essays and presentations are each year. The team has so many initiatives and programs that I can't fathom how they manage to pick certain ones each year to talk about. Their website has so (http://frogforce503.org/index.php/community-outreach/community-connections) much (http://frogforce503.org/index.php/community-outreach/first-connections) stuff (http://frogforce503.org/index.php/about-frog-force/team-history) that the team is currently working on that didn't even make it into the essay; there's even more stuff that's not listed their either!

I'll always cherish the time I spent with Frog Force. That team is such a positive influence for their members and the communities around them. I think I realized just how much a tight-knit group of caring and selfless individuals 503 is in 2010 is when a close member of my family suffered a catastrophic illness. The team immediately went out collecting donations (during finals and graduation week, no less!) and pulling personal funds together to help pay for food, travel, and hospital expenses to make sure I was taken care of so that I could walk during my graduation. That was a moment of pure kindness that I'll never forget.

Good luck this year, Frog Force! No matter what, you guys will go far!
