So a local company donated 500 lbs of CF 12k twill to us. We've used CF cloth many times, but I'm not sure how we will make use of all this CF twill. I have about 100 rolls of this stuff. Any ideas? Chop it and use it to strengthen layups?

Invest in one of these, (http://www.xwinder.com/) and use it to make lightweight extrusions.

Another idea. Make a loom and create your own Carbon Fiber weaved Sheets. No need to go buy an expensive machine or more carbon fiber if you can just make it yourself.

Is that prepreg or just the tow? If the former, you need to store it in a freezer or its going to go bad in a few months.

It is just the tow. No prepreg... but they said they will donate that also once I get a freezer chest. They also donated several rolls of CF fabric. Very nice sponsor addition this year.... the one year we didn't make anything out of CF, go figure.

I like this idea.... kinda pricey but gives me a good idea for an automation project for my students next fall!
