Hello All,

I am one of the lead mentors on 4954. We recently have come across a few location that might be willing to let us host an off-season event. We were hoping the FRC community could fill out a quick survey or reply to this thread in order to see how many teams would be interested in attending our event.

Some things to know:
Our location is not final yet, so it may be in one of two locations. Either Middletown, DE or in Dover, DE.
Our area is trying its best to promote STEM and we feel FIRST would be a huge boost to STEM in our area!

Thanks in advanced to any and all that fill out our survey!

Cheers!

Around what date were you guys looking at?

That is a great question!

Currently we are shooting for a late off-season time frame. Either between Ramp Riot and Duel on the Delaware or after both of those competitions. So something around late October early/mid November.

The fall is pretty overcrowded with off-season events in the Mid-Atlantic as it is. There's already Ramp Riot, Duel on the Delaware, Girl Power, and Brunswick Eruption (and supposedly one other new one is coming as well). I would suggest trying to find an alternate time. It's probably too soon for this spring, but next spring might make a lot of sense. With Monty Madness not happening any more and PARC being gone for a few years now, there's no MAR off-season in May anymore. The only other spring off-season is MidKnight Mayhem, and that's not until June (after many schools let out).

Just want to completely echo what Sean said above. MAR is super saturated with off-season events, especially in the fall. Even FIRST addicts like myself get tired.

HERE attempted a new off-season event hosted at Stevens University in June of 2014, and I believe only 15 teams registered. In the end, it wasn't worth continuing the event for a second year.

However, with that said, if you really really really want to do something in Delaware this fall or next spring, sign me up.

And a little bit south - The 10th Battle O' Baltimore is Sept. 24th.
