I was just wondering if anyone knows if a rookie team (Besides Team 100) ever won the National Championship. Thanks a lot

In 1995, the year of the first National comp. at Disney World, Raychem from California was the winner. I believe that was their Rookie Year...they even made the cover of the Small Parts Catalog

In their rookie year, team 71 received the top seed award at the nationals. Don't believe me? Take a look at their history (http://hammond.k12.in.us/TeamHammond/team.html) page..

Not 1999, we finished 2nd that year, but we were kind of yelled at for tipping 71 over when they came at us on the puck

We won though in 1998

WOW that's crazy. in 1995 we won the national chamionship too. That means two teams from the same state.

As I look back on this, I realize that we were the Raychem team

I could have sworn that Gael Force (126) won in 1992, I should know, we did finish 2nd :D

Nope, I have a reliable source who says our fine friends from Rochester at least SEEDED #1. I'm probably wrong about them being the champions. :(

I used to be on the (then) River Rats (250) and they were there too :D

I'm not sure about how the seeding went at nationals, but I do know that the X-Cats won the Chairman's Award in 1992 (as well as in 1994). I may be wrong, but are they the only team to win the Chairman's Award as a rookie?

As I was checking through old pics I took at nationals I found a pic from 2001, it was a picture of the 1992 National Champ on display on the Pit Admin table, it was 126
