So did my team get in or am I back as the emcee, or do I get to be a robot on the field? The possibilities are now limitless. You might need to raise the weight limit.... ;)
Thank you for the invitation though. You can bet that Wave will be making upgrades to be in full force come IRI!
Team 624 is honored to be invited after our tough season. We can't wait to prove ourselves at this prestigious event. Thank you to the IRI Committee as well as any teams who endorsed us.
Time to get back to work.

Well, i will blame it on Google Docs.

1241 was also renamed after their Woodie Flowers Finalist Award winning mentor Corey Lehman. I now really hope they name their robot after him next season. :)

4 Minnesota Teams make the list - 2052, 2502, 3130, and 5172. Each will represent MN well.
Good luck!

Same here teammate. :D
This was difficult and some good teams are not on the invitation list.
Out of curiosity, did the IRI Planning Committee watch all 135 submitted application videos?

Hmm, i went back and looked at the original base file and that is how they were submitted. Maybe Corey and Tyler have actually changed their team names and just not told anyone yet ....

My bad - thanks for catching that (sorry HP Robotics). Another very deserving team that will showcase well. Love the sideshot on the robot!

Teams were not required to submit videos so there are likely fewer than 135 application videos.
Congrats to all the teams, especially the 3 from VA! Pretty bummed to not see some teams there, but the design of the process and the event makes it hard ot see everyone.

Team 1257 is honored and overjoyed to be invited for the first time. I'd like to thank the IRI Committee and anyone who may have endorsed us. Congratulations to all the teams accepted, especially our MAR friends 25, 225, 341, 1640, and 2590, and my alliance partner on 2791, 5254!

The selection team (not the same as the planning committee) takes advantage of all materials they have / need to make decisions. As needed, this includes performance data (FIRST, Blue Alliance, other scouting data), video, pictures, letters of support and personal viewing of teams at regionals, districts and the championship. The team spends almost a week reviewing and comparing notes to make the final decisions. Multiple factors go into the decisions.

I also just wanna say that I'm really $@#$@#$@#$@#ing bummed out that Shaker got shafted again because myself and others should have run a nomination campaign, we just expected them to be a shoo in. Sorry ladies and gents. I still think you're pretty.

I'm similarly disappointed in 2791's rejection, but I'm also pumped both 5254 and 20 got in.
The team list looks stacked, and it should be a great event.
3824 is thrilled and honored. What can we print to be auctioned off? Any suggestions. Had a chair last year.

I have a feeling Kevin is slightly more pumped about one of those teams over the other due a disproportionate sodium distribution.

Invited teams represent 14 US states, Canada, and 6 District systems:
One each from Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Missouri, Ohio, Tennessee, and West Virginia
Two each from California, Florida, and Wisconsin
Three each from Chesapeake, Illinois, and New England
Four from Texas
Five each from Minnesota and New York
Six from Mid Atlantic
Eight from Canada
Ten from Indiana
Sixteen from Michigan
I would love to see how this IRI field compares against earlier events on Jim's (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1579157&postcount=32) mean vs. signal-to-noise-ratio of OPR plot. I am guessing the point will be way up and to the right. :)
edit: Doing the calc myself using season OPRs here (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/16s5nqnpTv2ipu--dyq41P5RewzFiKjED2MrM3ERkGxM/edit#gid=522711098), I get Mean = 46.3, SNR = 14.4. The IRI Mean OPR is a little off the top of Jim's chart (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1579157&postcount=32), and the SNR is a little to the right of MSC. So, as usual, IRI is the strongest and most balanced field yet.
WOW! What an honor.... 20 teams from Michigan and 4 teams from Texas... Jersey Voltage is excited to be one of the 4 Texas teams.
This is our first trip to IRI and we are humbled to be selected to compete with some of the best teams in 2016!
Thanks and what an honor!
1731 is excited as can be!

I'm looking forward to the announcement of rule changes for IRI. Maybe 12 or 14 balls to weaken the tower? Maybe "unlimited" balls, so the need to monitor the number of scored balls in the tower won't be needed.

Yes. Brant Bowen is volunteer coordinator. He collects all of the information and then starts emailing people in late June with roles.
