We're looking forward to having the Tin Mints and Tin Men in attendance!

After just 2 weeks, Brunswick Eruption has reached its full capacity. At this point, any teams that register will be placed on the wait list. We will contact teams on a first-registered, first-invited basis if any spots become available.

We currently have 42 registered teams, three of which are pre-rookies! Also of note, one-third of the teams are from New York/outside of the MAR region. We're looking forward to a diverse and competitive event!

Hi everyone,

The BE Planning Committee had its first meeting of the new school year and is planning some changes to make this year's event the largest yet, literally.

Team Registration
To meet the demands of team registration and accommodate four new pre-rookie teams (!), we have increased the event capacity. The team list currently sits at 46 teams (http://be.raiderrobotix.org/teams/) and may change slightly over the next few weeks as teams invited off of the waitlist accept/decline. At this point, all of the teams listed should have received an invoice for payment. If you have not, please contact us.

Defenses
At the recommendation of MAR, we will be using a static set of defenses throughout the event. The drawbridge has been decommissioned due to packing issues and lack of use and, as per FIRST, the portcullis will not be in use at off season events. We will send team contacts a survey soon to gather information about team preferences for permanent defense selection and placement.

Rule Changes
Other than the static defenses, we do not anticipate any other major rule changes. Small tweaks, such as clarification about robot contact within secret passages, will be published in the team information packet. During alliance selection, picking within the top 8 is allowed and we will use four team alliances with no backup robots (championship rules).

Volunteers
We have a solid crew of volunteers already signed up, but volunteer registration is still open! If you're interested in lending your expertise in a particular area or want to try a new volunteer role before the upcoming season, please consider signing up to join our crew. It's important to register online (be.raiderrobotix.org/volunteer/) as soon as possible to guarantee your volunteer t-shirt size since we do not order extras. Volunteer role assignments and confirmation emails will be sent out within a week for those who have already registered.

Aloha!

Brunswick Eruption is less than two weeks away, so we wanted to remind you about some of our awards:

First, the deadline for the Kumu (Mentor/Teacher) Award is Thursday, November 10th. This award recognizes the hard work, persistence, and dedication of a team mentor who goes above and beyond the call of duty for his/her team. Students, please consider submitting a nomination for one of your team’s mentors as a way of showing your appreciation. Nominations can be submitted at https://goo.gl/forms/UMyOf6EMjbdqzV5O2.

Second, we are once again holding food and shoe drives at this year’s event. The teams who donate the most items in each category will win awards. Please consider supporting these two collections as a way of giving back to the community. All non-perishable food items collected will benefit the North Brunswick Food Bank, who especially appreciate donations as the holiday season approaches.

For a full list and description of the awards your team can earn at Brunswick Eruption 15, please visit http://be.raiderrobotix.org/awards/.

A more detailed event information packet will be sent out in the coming days.

We're going to have a full house of 45 teams, including 4 pre-rookies, and are looking forward to a great event!

Mahalo,
The Brunswick Eruption Team

Brunswick Eruption is this Saturday, so here are some last minute reminders and important event details:

The deadline for the Kumu (Mentor/Teacher) Award is Friday night, November 11th. This award recognizes the hard work, persistence, and dedication of a team mentor who goes above and beyond the call of duty for his/her team. Students, please consider submitting a nomination for one of your team’s mentors as a way of showing your appreciation. Nominations can be submitted at https://goo.gl/forms/UMyOf6EMjbdqzV5O2

We are once again holding food and shoe drives at this year’s event. The teams who donate the most items in each category will win awards. Please consider supporting these two collections as a way of giving back to the community. All non-perishable food items collected will benefit the North Brunswick Food Bank, who especially appreciate donations as the holiday season approaches.

The Team Information Packet has been posted at http://be.raiderrobotix.org/BE15/BE15TeamInfoPacket.pdf
The packet contains information about the full agenda, robot drop off, rule changes, food concessions menu, and more. A pit map will be available tomorrow evening. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact us.

A representative from FIRST Mid-Atlantic (MAR) will be holding an information session/open forum at 12:00pm in room 124. All are welcome to attend. Signage will be posted to help direct you to the classroom.

Finally, Brunswick Eruption is the last MAR off-season competition of the year. As such, certain game specific elements of the field are no longer needed. If any teams wish to keep any of these field elements, please speak to the MAR Equipment Representative for this event, Howard Cohen. Requests for items will be fulfilled on a first come, first served basis. Teams receiving requested field parts will be responsible for picking them up and transporting them at the end of the event.

We're looking forward to another great event this weekend!

Hello,

Sorry for clogging this thread but are any teams attending willing to sell, gift, or lend a 24t or 60t 1/2" hex gear? We need 1 of each of those gears to complete an offseason robot and since ill be at the even tomorrow volunteering I figured Id ask that way we could have it in time for next week.

If you have 1 please PM me.

Thanks!

Edit: Thanks a ton to 271 for lending us the gears!

Speaking of which, 1676's full-field footage of all of the Qualification and Elimination Matches, along with the Alliance Selections and Awards Ceremony, have now been posted on our YouTube Channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/Team1676) here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLPUJJPXRAlEQp2U1_eTL2wmgBverMhhAB

Huge thanks to gracious hosts Team 25, all of the wonderful volunteers, and special shout-out to Event Coordinator Howard Cohen, who amazingly puts his all into planning this event year after year. It was great to see everyone one last time for the Stronghold season, and we can't wait to see you all again for Steamworks next year!
