Can anyone provide details on their AEP sponsorship experience ?

All I could find on the process it that the AEP foundation application is by invitation only. I'm assuming that you need an AEP employee to get the invitation.

Looks like an average of around $2k/team ($200k to 101 teams last year). Not too shabby if you have an "in".
