So this just came through on Twitter...

A week seven event in LaCrosse sounds nice.

We're pretty excited. :]
A great facility, tons of convenient hotels, and a way to help grow FRC in Western Wisconsin.

Ohh, I can talk about this one finally! I'm in, who else is?
So close to MN! This event seems like another great option for MN volunteers to gain experience in KV roles or even field reset.
Hopefully this helps even more to alleviate the Volunteer issue MN is facing, preventing the move to the (evil) District model.

Better yet would be to come to the MRI event later this year which is specifically about training volunteers.

Up in Chippewa Falls we have been watching for this one. Week seven is a little late for us but we "might" try to step up to a two tournament season this year. Fingers crossed.

My goal for Bison Robotics is 30+ volunteers at the event. Many of the volunteers we had last year are looking to take the next step and make a move towards a key volunteer role. I'm sure many will help fill any vacancies at MN Regionals this year. Can't wait to see MN keep growing!
As for the LaCrosse Regional, I'm very interested to see how it affects the Minneapolis Regionals. I'm sure many teams, especially those that are south of the cities, will be drawn away from Minneapolis. It might lead to some new faces at many different Regionals in MN this year. Should be a very fun year.

Very excited for this event to be going through. I am a little surprised that the rumored week 7 event was approved by FIRST but I am sure it was due to that they could not get another date.
This will definitely be on Wave's radar this year.

This is an awesome option for MN/WI teams. I'm excited to see how this plays out!

A week 7 regional is a great way to try out the district system - qualifying week 7 then planning travel/lodging for Champs(s). :p
Glad to see a new event popping up in that area to help facilitate competition for more teams.

Week 7 which is Easter weekend makes it more interesting yet.

171 will be highly considering this event also. Any event that lines up with days off school is great for us as the majority of the mentors are also college students.
Plus, being from the La Crosse area and a 2977 Alum makes me a little biased...

A week 7 regional is unique, especially with the new Champs format, so we get a special blog post - just for us.

Reminder: Although TIMS shows zero slots available - there is still plenty of room. So far four states are represented.

Looking forward to see who gets added to the mix on Thursday.

There are 26 teams currently signed up including two rookies. Does anyone know what the capacity is?

Capacity is 54.
Hoping to fill but not sure how quickly it will happen. I was surprised there were 26 during the 1st round of registration.

My team is currently on the wait list for this regional. Does anyone know when the final list of 54 teams will be released? Is there a way to see who signed up in what order?

According to 2194 it took 3 days for FIRST to approve them from the wait-list the last time around.

Waitlist is not a first come first served deal. Teams are invited off waitlist at the RDs discretion.

So this is true for normal events but we do not know that is true for this event in particular where there has been a 0 capacity since day one.
Maybe Steve Bissen can fill us in.

You can find the current list for regionals and districts on this site:
https://my.usfirst.org/myarea/index.lasso?event_type=FRC&year=2017
It's a little glitchy though and requires a lot of refreshes though.

I received an email that Wave got added off the waitlist around 1:30 central for this event.

What are the dates for this event again? The FIRST Event Details pop-up page has the event ending on Friday, but most other sources have it going through Saturday.
edit: Never mind. It looks like all of the "Event Details" pop-ups are off a day for their events.

That seems to be a FIRST website problem when your computer is set to any time zone other than HQ's EST.
sanddrag (https://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1612824&postcount=3) figured it out.
