View Full Version : say goodbye to ListenTo

Due to lack of interest, and unwanted bandwith from the vbulletin.org, the ListenTo feature will be disabled shortly. I'm asking that if you are running it, please remove it from Winamp3 or iTunes. The URL it posts to will be disabled tonight.

The plugin I wrote got 'borrowed' without my knowledge, but instead of taking the plugin -- they credited me, and linked directly to chiefdelphi.com. We don't have the bandwidth to have 1000s of people downloading the files, nor would I want ChiefDelphi associated with this vBulletin hack. So -- that feature, although fun, is going to be disabled tonight.

Thanks,
Brandon

P.S.: You'll notice that the 'ListenTo List' has been replaced with a 'Spotlight List', in the drop-down up top.

Credit is better then just taking, eh?

Nice job Mr. Brandon.

I would've been less upset if they had taken the plugin, and included it on their site ... rather than waste chiefdelphi.com's bandwidth. Either way, I still would've appreciated an e-mail or something telling me he was taking/borrowing/linking-to it. Oh well...

Um.. the 'listen to' formatting is still in the edit profile (user cp). Did you decide to keep it, or did you just not remove it yet?

You know, I came here specfiically to look for songs. got a 6 hour car trip, each way tommorrow, and was looking for more music.

Oh well,

Suggestion, I've noticed some of them are slightly spelling impaired. Do you want to have a mechinism to correct it. God knows i'm not picking there spelling, i'm worse at it myself.

Example
"FIRST is like a big roller coaster, that can only be experianced if one takes a ride which can become a liftime experiance. - activemx"

It wouldn't be an exact quote, though.. :)

I just leave it as its submitted. I guess I could spell check it, if its TOO terribly bad.

I would be of the opinion that if it is so bad that it needs to be corrected, it probably shouldn't be spotlighted.
