Are there any particular spots where you are still lacking a good number of volunteers?

We are lacking a lead team querer, safety glasses advisor, and volunteer registration supervisor, a photographer, and some crowd control (practice field attendant, ect).

While those are yet to be filled, feel free to sign up for everything anything you are interested in. We can have you shadow roles!

And, on the flip side, if applications were in a while ago, when can we expect to hear back?

You can expect to get official role assignments no later than Sep 16.

Thanks!

We hope that all teams competing had a great time!

FYI: This event would not be possible without the most valuable volunteer--Pauline Tasci. :P

Also we'd like to give a huge shoutout to Team 254, whose AV reources and public Cheesy Arena FMS helped make this event run smoothly. They really embody what it means to be gracious professionals.

This event kicked butt.

It was very well organized, ran pretty smooth for an off-season event, saw a lot of new volunteers or veteran volunteers in new positions. The competition was good with a lot of well performing teams there. Great workshops! Not sure there is anything I would change about it.

Can't wait for next year.

Thank you to the entire Beach Blitz committee and everyone associated with the event for making yet another high-quality low-cost opportunity for play available to Southern California teams. Speaking for the teams, we appreciate it! It was a fantastic opportunity for our brand new students to experience what a FIRST competition was like, and it was fun for me to see them engaged, having fun, and taking ownership of their team in a comfortable but competitive environment.

A big thanks also goes out to Marina High School for making the venue available. I realize it's not easy nor pleasant sometimes to let all these people from all different schools come into your facility, but we really appreciate you making it available. Your gigantic gymnasium provided ample field, spectator, and pit area space for this event, and is truly a unique facility and a great venue within Southern California. You have really done quite a service to the local teams for making your facility available so this event could take place.

Thanks again everyone, and we look forward to returning next year!

Thank you to all the teams, volunteers, and spectators who attended Beach Blitz!
We loved how many people came to the competition, attended workshops, and participated in our snapchat challenges. Thank you to the awesome committee without them we would not have pulled this off.
Hope everyone had a great time and cannot wait for next year!
We will be sending out a questionnaire of how to improve the experience, make sure to have all your team members, webcast viewers, and anyone who was even at Beach Blitz for a day answer them!

With that said, all our footage from the weekend (including workshops) will be online in following days. Please keep your eye out.

If you want to see a little bit of what Beach Blitz had, here was our opening ceremonies hype video from Day 2!

Wow, what a fun event!

I have to thank the Beach Blitz Planning Committee for putting on such an amazing competition and for showing what a few, young, dedicated people can accomplish. Everyone was having a good time, from the scorer's table to the teams. All the volunteers were in a good mood the whole weekend (I think the free Snapple helped). I would gladly have this committee run any regional or district event (hint hint).

Big shoutout to Cooler Master for keeping the excitement up with their raffle, giveaways, and booth.

I had the honor of being a ref and I would like to thank Eric for showing us new refs how it's done and how to make fair calls, while keeping with the spirit of the event. I would also like to thank our Head Ref, Saikiran, for being cooperative with the rest of us and listening to our input. I'm totally hooked on reffing now and will be volunteering in the future because of this event.

I would like to personally thank all the organizers of Beach Blitz. This was one of the most organized events I have ever been to. The volunteers were wonderful and always willing to help out.

Cooler Master had a great time and everyone at the office is really liking the photos we've been sharing. I look forward to more events like this in the future.

This event was truly spectacular, and was easily one of the best California robotics events to have ever been run (and that includes regionals). For what felt like a district event but better, run by a volunteer staff with an average age of 25, it was inspiring to see how much teams could enjoy a high quality event for such little cost.

My favorite aspect about this event, however, was how well they treated their volunteers. When it comes to treating people right, this event "gets it". Everyone felt like their contribution mattered, and everyone was treated with equal respect. Beach Blitz is going to be bigger and better in 2017, and I cannot wait to be a part of it again.

All elimination matches are up on our YouTube playlist (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PoBc2CqGWuE&list=PLj7FEwDI59IYduQCQa4cqoRouua4-vkT9)!

The videos have been submitted to TBA so should be up fairly soon.

Edit: We know that YouTube may be blocking a match or two in some countries because of music and are working on a fix

I've been to a couple MAR events and this beat the ones I've been to, specifically the facility. I think volunteer wise it was comparable.

Is there a chance that the qualification match videos will be posted eventually? I appreciate the effort that goes into editing and posting match videos. This event generated a number of exciting qualifiers. Crossing fingers. Thank you!

There are no plans to post separate qualifying match footage on Youtube, but the full live stream can be found on Periscope and Twitch. There you can find all matches played.

The video exists, in very large blocks. I'm not sure if there is a plan to cut it up and upload individual videos.

I'll forward the request to our video guys.

Were the Beach Blitz workshops recorded by chance? I had missed one of the workshops I was hoping to attend and was wondering if I could view them somewhere.

How do we get Beach Blitz award data onto The Blue Alliance? It looks like it may not be there, but Chezy Champs had it.
