View Full Version : No Robot Communication/Can't update software on RoboRIO
I've connected tethered and wireless to the robot and I still get no robot communication, I don't have any more information to this part but I think the problem ties with my second problem. RoboRIO has 2 flashes on status which means that an error occurred with the installation of the software. When I went to re-install it, it says that the connection was interrupted (usually during the last part of the installation). I am plugged in with a printer cable too.
I am plugged in with a printer cable too.
I hope you mean USB cable, not one of these printer cables:

USB type-B cables are used often with printers.

You may have corrupted the image. First, boot into safe mode (https://wpilib.screenstepslive.com/s/4485/m/24193/l/287271-recovering-a-roborio-using-safe-mode). Then, make sure you are using a USB A-B cable (http://17c4dcd7f91259d8cc66-f5932f6db0039e8c02f89a70c334ff0e.r2.cf1.rackcdn.co m/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/usb-ab-cable.jpg) and that you have the latest NI update package for FRC (https://wpilib.screenstepslive.com/s/4485/m/13503/l/599670-installing-the-frc-2016-update-suite-all-languages). Then re-image (https://wpilib.screenstepslive.com/s/4485/m/13503/l/144984-imaging-your-roborio) from safe mode.

I remember parallel printer cables... I feel old now (and I'm only 24). Then again, I also remember cRios (the old 8 slot ones), Blue Kwikbyte boxes, and IFI controllers.

Thanks! It works now but now I have a new problem: It disconnects after a couple seconds of driving. Our electrical guys are going to look at it today while I look at the logs.
