Cooler Master Keyboard Giveaway

Cooler Master is excited to announce a new program for the robotics community. We are giving away 50 keyboards to teams.

You read that right... 50 keyboards.

"But Brandon... what's the catch?"

There isn't one. You just need to go to the form and fill out a request. The first 50 people/teams will get a keyboard. It's that simple.


As an added bonus, if your team is one of the 50 and you decide to mod your keyboard (Custom vinyl wrap, custom 3D printed keycaps, CNC metal parts, etc) you will be entered to win a MasterCase 5. Info will be included in the email sent to the 50 recipients.

If the contest is, as Brandon mentioned, open to the first 50 teams/people who apply, then it could be inferred that they just haven't had 50 people apply yet. Alternatively it could also just be because the CM staff is taking the rest of the week off due to the holidays and will look at it again on Monday.

I haven't gotten an email either. I don't think the thread views are that accurate, because probably not everybody that viewed the thread actually entered, or at least not at first. Also, there is a possibility that the view counter is off, considering that the CD clock is a few minutes behind... (New time "zone": Chief Delphi! :D)

I would be VERY surprised if your receiving department didn't already have a plan for deliveries over break (if no one will be there to receive). Most schools receive numerous deliveries during any given day - it may surprise people how busy schools are over Christmas and Summer breaks!

Nope, sorry. We are closing for the holidays and when we get back we are in CES mode. I didn't have time to send emails.

Our school is about 140 students, no receiving department, and there's nobody in the building at all over break. Last year at the end of build season over Winter Break we were literally the only ones in the building all week. I'm pretty sure the outside cleaning crew didn't even come in either. (At least the pile of pizza boxes would suggest that.)

If for some reason it gets sent back to us we will send it back out. We gotchu!

Random question: was the intent of this giveaway for teams to get keyboards or for individual team members to get them for personal use?

Our intent was to offer up some of our keyboards for people to use. If it is someone using it to game, awesome. If it's a team using it to do CAD/program their robot, that's cool too. The main point is that it gets used and someone benefits from it.

I just hope that everyone enjoys it and sends CM good vibes.

I got one! Pics are attached. I'm using it to type this now. The "sweeping" color change mode is awesome, as is the feel and sound of this keyboard. Definitely an upgrade over my $20 Redragon keyboard which had RGB LEDs, but the whole keyboard had to be one color and there were no lighting effects.

P.S. I built the computer I'm using this keyboard with. It is cooled with the assistance of two Cooler Master case fans in addition to what the case came with(not CM), and a Seidon 120 for the processor. Both are great, though the Seidon started rattling, but restarting seemed to fix it.
