This is awesome! Is it made of metal or wood?

Thanks, it is CNC plasma cut in our shop. 1/8 " steel about 4'×2'. Took a few hrs to redraw image from DLC Pack 1 to get it CNCable.
Going to let it rust a bit more for patina.

I can't believe I didn't think of doing this first. It looks great. Would you be willing to share the artwork?

Are the rust colored portions actually rust or did you paint it after cutting?

Sure I will share. I will try to upload the dxf tomorrow.
The coloration is mostly rusty water dried on the part.

How small can you make this? It would be a nice pin to hand out.

Pin size would have to be another process maybe laser or a tiny milling bit. Even then you would probably lose detail.
I am guessing that the pins from FIRST this year will look something like this with some sort of printing process

Just added the files to the "papers" section in CD media. search frc 3275 or frc 3134. Enjoy and have a happy new year.

I used my staff workday today to cut this out with our velox router. It is cutout of a piece of random sheet aluminum that I inherited when I took the job. I tweaked the original a little to make it easier to cut. Came out great, thanks for the idea and your DXF! I'll get the kids to paint it when they comeback to school on Wednesday.

Staff workday well used!!! looks great
The Valox looks like a good machine for the price. Is it a VR series? How do you like it? what software did it come with?
