Look at this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=742418758

Is this fake? It looks it to me.......
For the location it says: Shipped by Segway LLC
Then for the seller it says: be@businessdirective.com
Shouldn't the seller be from Segway???????? Something seems stange unless its just me.

Look at this one also: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=741435066

Also look at these segway things for sale: http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?cgiurl=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2Fws%2 F&krd=1&from=R8&MfcISAPICommand=GetResult&ht=1&SortProperty=MetaEndSort&query=segway

Maybe this guy is going to buy a Segway off Amazon.com and then resell it???

There sure is lots of information on that link about the Segway though

Hmm that is strange indeed. It appears that the only Legit. one would be your first link, since the 2nd auction was ended with no high bidder. It always seems like you can get anything off of Ebay

E-mails and such have been sent out from e-bay that people posting a technological device on e-bay arn't legit, and that only a 'well known' distributor is selling them. My guess is this guy bought one, and will ship it to the winner when they get it.

yah that is what i am thinking and did you notice the price. Way more than what Amazon.com is selling them for. Plus there are people selling the info of where you can buy one legit, they are charging 100+ just to e-mail the high bidder amazon.com's site. Ebay is such a scam.

Some people are just so greedy... I haven't heard about that e- mailng of Amazon's site for money, but that's pretty low. Ebay should post something on their site about how one could easily go to Amazon.com and get one for 5K. Arg... so much money....:(

the first one seems fake since there is just one huge page of specs, not like the somewhat more official looking page that they sell them on.

I can't believe someone bid on it...

That's just flat out sad.

No one bid on it that is just the asking price.

When I looked at it, I thought said 1 Bid and had a highest bidder (can't check it now, at school)

Yup, this is sad - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1941463308

haha if it's not obvious enough, using the word Amazon twice...

Heh. Probably bid on by some Mac users.
*has house burned down by people wearing "Bill Gates=t3h SATAN" t-shirts*

In hindsight though, it could be worse. One guy put up an auction on eBay saying that if you were the lucky person to pay him enough money (along with his travel fees), he would come to your house and beat you up.

Ok, does every post need to insult the Mac in some way? Look at Fluck, he hates Macs, but only when he has an opinion does it come out.

Hey there's nothing wrong with Macs! Just ask Mr. Chaos Theory himself ;), But seriously if I had a Mac I would be satisfied, just like I am with my HP Pavilion w/ Windows ME. (I need XP :( )

I just looked at it now, I stand corrected.

However, someone did bid $1.50 on the one thing (6 bids!, and 20 hrs left!)... That's really sad

First come, first served for delivery starting March 2003

Available now for delivery starting March 2003! First come, first served. Deliveries will begin on a first come, first served basis beginning March 1, 2003, and unit reserved through this special offer will be delivered by July 31, 2003.

The Segway Human Transporter (HT) is a truly 21st-century idea. A two-wheeled electric vehicle that's practical, efficient, slightly miraculous, and an undeniably fun way of getting around, it's as different from a bicycle or motorcycle as the original personal computers were from their lumbering, mainframe predecessors.

He's just reselling the Amazon.com sale.

Even worse, the deal is worthless. The guy has a July delivery date. He can't even get his early.

Yah I saw that too. What is really funny is the fact that the person mentions amazon twice in the thing. Could people get any more stupid.

joke
n.
Something said or done to evoke laughter or amusement, especially an amusing story with a punch line.

Anywho, yes, the Internet is full of stupid people. To prove this theory, simply go on a website, post something like "(band/game/computer/political party/etc.) sucks" and you'll be buried in thousands of e-mails with Boo Radley's grammatical accuracy.
Not surprisingly, these people can be milked for money like...uhm...ignorant...things.
