We're giving the Ventures System another test run.

This event has to deal with the 2003 Game.

I promise not to accidentally erase the data this time :)

You don't have to re-enroll. If you were enrolled, you got a new initial bank of 50. These banks & results will be cleared before the real 'season' starts, in January. Again, this is just for sytem testing. Please report any bugs, comments, questions, & enhancements to me.

Can you add another choice for field shape? The current field shape is none of the choice presented. Please add "rectangle" into it, or else everyone choosing "others" will have a slight advantage than others.

Would it be possible to make the "Bets & Odds" section that comes up after you place your bet sortable by the titles (Field Shape, Teams per Alliance, Stationary Goal, Automation, Odds, points bet) Not sure if this would be useful in the future, but maybe it could be changed in the future where u can sort it by team numbers.

yeah. ill make it sortable.


Right now it 'groups' :)

I have to sort by the ID stored in the database, not the text value the user sees.
I have to re-work some things, to make it sortable by the text value shown.

Better than nothing, for now :)

Ok.

Its now sorted alphabetically, instead of just grouped.

:)

if the amount of joins makes the page too slow, i'll have to switch it back to just grouping.
Let me know if I messed anything up :)

When I click on the link for the ventures, it tells me

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare getcategoryinfo() (previously declared in /home/chiefdel/public_html/forums/ventures.php:724) in /home/chiefdel/public_html/forums/admin/cd.functions.php on line 46

It has worked before, but is not at this time.

The window to bet has been extended 3 days, to this Thursday. So, if you haven't got your bet in -- you get a few more days to think about it and get your choice in.

Ends: January 2, 2003 4:30PM EST

I have to go over a few little minor bugs I found, but other than that it seemed to work.

The official season will start in a few days, once I fix those bugs & clear out the banks. The first set of regional events will open for betting a few weeks before the event happens. I'll keep everybody posted.

You won the event.... but the amount you bid wasn't enough to boost your final score into the top 'however-many-i-copied-and-pasted' :)

Yep.

Everybody in the first list hit the nail dead on, with at least one of their bets. Some people however, bet all 50 points on the winning combination.. and ended up with 266.59.

You only bet a little bit, so you only got a little bit back. Still a winner -- just not enough to have more money in the end..
